    Any oil based undercoat applied to the stain will block it..When dry just emulsion again (zinssers pricey if youre not using it a lot) :wink:

    My Hitachi WH14DMR battery is ****d.. Ive found a few websites selling replacements from £35-£99 but Im unsure of their quality..Has anyone here bought a pattern battery from one of these sites & could recommend them? Cheers

    Just paint the whole ceiling with an solvent/oil-based undercoat , thin it slightly and apply with a foam/sponge roller & it will seal itb ready for a few coats of vinyl matt..Buy trade emulsion, not Wickes,B&Q etc.

    Our 3 year old ZWF12070W1 has just started freezing halfway through a cycle. It fills with water, goes through some rotations then stops still filled with water... The Start/Pause button will flash red twice if the dial is turned or the pause button pressed..Can anyone tellme what error this is...

    The flame on our Rangemaster 55 wont increase. it ignites immediately but burns very low no matter where the knob is turned to. The jets are all clean/unblocked, theres a good gas supply to the rest of the grill, hobs etc. Could this be due to the FlameFailureDevice ?(Ive tried tapping it...

    No, youre right opps, I didnt mean it stopped yellowing, I just meant it appeared 'more white' at first application. As you say all shades of paint will yellow after time (unless sun-bleached)

    If you come over to take a look in the Bib n Braces forum you'll see that we're not impressed by water-based gloss/eggshell, it doesnt perform anywhere near as good as oil/solvent-based products :( As for yellowing, Im having no end of customers calling me back to explain why their recently...

    NP Yes, Weathershield is water-based, its pretty durable stuff...Personally I dont apply it after the end of Sept /mid October - weather permitting. Theres a good colour range to be found in Dulux. If you can afford it resin-based(Pliolite) is longer-lasting & 'dries' better in iffy weather

    after flushing the loo the pipes upstairs howl/whine for a few minutes after but can be quitened somewhat if the upstairs tap is turned on, is this a high-pitched 'water hammer' effect? If so how to fix? Cheers
