Replacing plastic trap with new chrome one

Thanks for the advice. Yep might well try to replace it all as it will be on show - if all the chrome isn't too pricey!

Replacing plastic trap with new chrome one

Hello, I would like to replace a plastic bottle trap under a corner wall mounted basin with a new chrome trap as shown in the picture. Not sure if it would be better/easiest to replace just the bottle trap itself or replace the first part of the waste pipe and even the elbow joint with chrome...

Rewiring light switch - 3 live wires but only 2 terminals

That might well be why the kitchen spotlights are now only working when the dining light switch is on! Will change it so the doubled wire is in its own terminal. Great advice - thanks again

Rewiring light switch - 3 live wires but only 2 terminals

All sorted out now and appears I got the wires in the right terminals luckily... sparkwright - yes, I noticed there was a live with the end doubled over. That was one of the lives going into the COM terminal. Does the doubled over mean something?

Since then, a separate switch controlling spotlights in the kitchen now doesn't work. I've reconnected the fuse...

Rewiring light switch - 3 live wires but only 2 terminals

Hello, I recently disconnected a light switch to remove a stud wall. I've now tried to wire the light switch back in but not sure how to do it as I didn't make a note of how it was originally wired. There are 3 live wires but only 2 live terminals (marked L and L1) in my switch which I think...

    Wiring in a ceramic hob

Hello all, I have just wired in a Samsung ceramic hob. My problem is only 2 of the 4 rings work. I think (according to the diagram supplied with the hob) it's because I haven't connected pole 1 and pole 2 together with a 'metal connector'. Could this be the problem? If it is, can anyone...

Hello all, I am about to fit an Ikea 'Loviken' monobloc kitchen tap. It comes supplied with rigid copper tails but I would like to replace these with flexi tap tails instead (due to my existing pipe layout). I have found some flexi tap tails for monobloc taps at Screwfix.com but there...
