    Hep2o T-connector leaking

Yes, I would have liked to have trimmed the pipes back a bit but "John" didn't leave me enough slack :( Well, fingers crossed all will be well. I'm using the other bathroom now to fully test the new connector before I fix the ceiling again.

    Hep2o T-connector leaking

Nope, you've just re-enforced my mind :) This is exactly what I think has happened and why it has leaked and why I think the new connector was the solution. This is probably what I will do if the new connector leaks.

    Hep2o T-connector leaking

The pipe looked in good condition, no marks as far as I could see which suggests to me that the grip ring on the original connector was duff. I'm pretty confident from the responses that it was just a duff connector and replacing it has fixed it.

    Hep2o T-connector leaking

It's definitely 100% hep as that's how I found out about hep ;) The pipes did have inserts but I have now replaced these inserts along with the connector.

    Hep2o T-connector leaking

The house is 3 years old and its guarantee ran out last year. The joint itself is grey which I believe is the older hep2o system? I've learnt a lot about this plastic plumbing in the last 24 hours

    Hep2o T-connector leaking

Hello, A couple of weeks before christmas I had a leak in my house (new build); and after some destruction and investigation identified that the leak was coming from a hep2o T connector supplying cold water to one of my bathrooms (a bathroom which gets very little use). I had very little...

    Hot Water but no CH

yep definitely programmer. It's now very intermittent, if I keep pressing the +1 hour button it will eventually come on but may go off again a few seconds after or will stay on for the whole hour. I've also learned that the Sunvic 207 XL has issues and has been superseded by the 207 XLS ...

    Hot Water but no CH

I don't know which wires, the only reason why I knew it had power was when I moved the manual dial on the side the motor would kick in. Anyhow, the CH has just this minute decided to start working again without me touching it! The CH light on the programmer is now on and so is the one on the...

    Hot Water but no CH

    Yes I have a multimeter, it's a 2-port valve.

    Hot Water but no CH

Something weird has just happened to my CH, it has decided to not turn on at all. When I turn it on via the programmer, the solenoid in the programmer clicks but the little light does not turn on (hot water is working fine). I've tried replacing the ch valve with one I know that works, but...

    Detached garage roof space conversion

Thanks, I will look into those twist ended straps. Yes, the velux will be letting light into the ground floor... so there will be a ~1m wide gap in the middle, essentially giving me 2 smaller roof storage spaces at either end.

    Detached garage roof space conversion

yep 4x1, I understand that I can't just remove these things. I want to replace the one truss bracing that runs close along the centre wall with something stronger i.e. the centre wall by fixing the trusses to it and cross members between each joist/truss which will also act as strap noggins...

    Detached garage roof space conversion

I've got a few planks which are nailed across the trusses, does anyone know what their job is? There's one that is laid square down the centre across all of the bottom chords from gable to gable, another nailed to the top of all the upright chords along the ridge and 2 diagonal planks nailed to...

    Wooden Floor over concrete

You will need >=10mm gap all around the perimeter. The wood can expand in all directions although I think it will expand more in one direction than the other. It's generally a good idea to let your wood acclimatise to your room before laying it. I gave my wood 1 - 2 weeks.

    Wooden Floor over concrete

All I can go by is my own experience and the 10mm gap all around my 3.5m x 4m living room was more than plenty. Maybe I just got lucky ;)

    Detached garage roof space conversion

Yep I will be doing that as well :) The wall is only about 5mm short of the trusses so I figured I could slide some wood underneath to provide a bit of central support. I got my 100x47 timbers today, really nice stuff 3.6m of dried C24 grade. Cost £5.50 per length which I thought was pretty...

    Wooden Floor over concrete

i have solid oak in my hallway and it is absoloutely fine. for the expansion gap just leave 10mm all around and you'll be good, unless you are doing a large area, which youre not. I fashioned some wooden pegs 10mm thick from scrap wood to use as spacers around the edge to give me my expansion...

    Wooden Floor over concrete

I fitted my wooden floor myself on top of concrete, went really well and was surprisingly easy. The concrete subfloor didn't need levelling as it was already pretty level being a new build house. There were a few little raised bits of concrete which I just chipped off with a chisel. I think...

    Detached garage roof space conversion

lol thanks for that insightful piece of information :P Seriously though, reinforcing the bottom chords this way should be okay? I've checked the joist load tables and taken into consideration how much weight I will be storing (just a couple of boxes of books and junk nothing seriously...

    Detached garage roof space conversion

Hello, I have a detached new build double garage (shared between my neighbour and myself). I would like to convert my half of the roof space into storage space and fit a velux window (the wide 1140mm type). Being a new build, the roof is made up of 10 king post trusses spaced at 600mm...
