Serviced quite recently, had a new heat exchanger and other items fitted. Why would it light when the inner cover is off? Do the boilers run on a vacuum?

My Vokera won't ignite but when I take off the inner cover I hear a slight 'sucking' sound and hey presto she lights. Any ideas? John

Hi, there will be a hidden screw under the lamp or behind a removable section. Don't undo the nut on the spindle before you take the housing off. Also it may slide towards you and then out (on lugs)

Thank you for the replies, the house is rented out and the gas bills have been high. There are radiator stats. The boiler is a Valiant. So it would be quite easy to fit a wireless stat? Any recommendations? Many thanks John

I have recently purchased a small house, the boiiler does not have a room stat, is this normal? Sorry for the basic question!
