Combi boiler...do boilers need room stats?

Current regulations dictate that any new boiler/heating installations, or those carried out within the last 2-3 years approx, must have a room stat.
Anything older than this was not required to have one and a few years back the general thinking was to have TRV's fitted to all rads instead.
It would be easy to fit one using a wireless roomstat.

As has been said it was quite common for boilers just to be fitted with trvs and no room stat ,far better to have one

Come on dave you should know better than that regs do NOT ask for a room stat they ask for an interlock , roomstat being the most common and easy way of achieving this

A programmable room stat would be much better value if the tenants are going to be clever enough to use it.
You sound as if you pay the gas? Thats not a good idea as tenants open a window if it gets too hot and always have all stats and control knobs on maximum all the time.

put it in and set the limit to say 21 if you can or change the way you rent the property otherwise the tenants WILL F*** YOU OVER!

A boiler interlock is the requirement, of which a roomstat is one method of satisfying.
