Linking two zones - removing one thermostat

There's a 3-port valve covering Heating/DHW but no further valve for the two zones - just two pumps.

Linking two zones - removing one thermostat

Hi all, I have a 2-zoned ASHP system, one thermostat upstairs and one downstairs. I'd like to test running the system as one zone from one programmable thermostat - how can I do this easily and temporarily? Both thermostats have L/N going to common terminals on the HP and a Brown/Grey going to...

Power Flush - Indication of Cost Please

Just been quoted £780 for a power flush on our 2 bed (8 radiators) house... initially thought that it was extremely fortunate we're renting... then i thought i'd see what the going rate is... interesting!

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Really i need a thermometer that gives me instant readings, maybe an IR thermometer, as the numbers keep rising slowly. Im not sure what kw the boiler is, it doesnt say on the boiler or documentation. The problem is that the boiler keeps switching off and on, so the numbers are all over...

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Im confused. I turned all stats up, and temp on boiler to 3/4. Initially it was banging, the output pipe from the boiler was physically shaking. Then it stopped, and the boiler ran for 30 minutes or so without a noise, nice and quiet heating of water... Readings i got then were: HW + CH -...

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

The MV is moving though, and it's the same with the valve turned manually - is this what you mean? Im not sure where to take those measurements shambolic... And all i have is a domestic digital thermometer with probe, any good?

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

British gas turned up yesterday. Agreed that the sound was due to overheating, so turned the stat on the boiler down, which has stopped it making it's awful noise. He also found an old pump in the airing cupboard, clogged right up. We were recommended a power flush (£740 odd). He called up half...

    Multi wired-in plug adaptor

That is fine, thanks for the clarification :) Thinking about it, i don't have a single multi-way adaptor in the house other than my Intellipanel :) You are saying, however, that it would be considered within ratings and safe if the user had knowledge of the input's ratings etc? Otherwise...

    Multi wired-in plug adaptor

Gotcha :) Is there any such adaptor that is wired in, and individually fused for each input? My only reason for wanting to do this, is that i have a number of appliances that stay on standby, and i'm getting into the habbit of turning them off (tassimo, microwave etc...) however the number...

    Multi wired-in plug adaptor

Thanks for your speedy response Taylor :) Lucky i posted! Are you saying that the multiplug simply wouldn't work powering x4 13A appliances...anywhere in the house?

    Multi wired-in plug adaptor

Does anybody know of a wired-in multi plug adaptor, that is switched? I'm talking about an adaptor similar to the multiplug here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/4-In-1-Adaptor-Plug/dp/B000LP64HW/ref=sr_1_72?ie=UTF8&s=kitchen&qid=1255041783&sr=1-72 ...but one that is switched for each...

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Any ideas on this? We have heating, but we also have hot hot water, i've havn't put the hot wated on in the last week. So, although the mechanical valve is working, it seems as though the valve is leaking inside? Is that likely? We have told the landlord, so will be getting someone to have a...

Issue with lock on front door?

Thanks for your response :) To me, it doesn't make sense at all - all that pressure on the key! I'll leave it be and not rip it all apart!

Issue with lock on front door?

I'm not sure, but it's flipping annoying! Every time we have to use the key to actually open the door. The handle only works to lock/unlock...

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Right, slight improvement. I've turned the dial for the temperature of the water on the front of the boiler - from about 3/4 to under half. The boiler now runs for about 30 seconds at a time, and there is no more banging. It then switches off with a little click, the boiler still reads "c" -...

Issue with lock on front door?

Hey guys, i've taken a video of what's happening with our front door at the moment. Basically, the door handle on the inside works fine, everything as normal. However, the outside handle works to lock and unlock, but when you try to use it to actually open the door, it doesn't do anything. To...

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Not sorted the banging, i don't think - i'll run it for a while and let you know what happens. I did think the valve had gone, as it wasn't returning, but that has sorted it! :)

Sorted, and that's working :) Thanks for your help, can't believe it was the wrong way round??!!

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Ok, screws out. I can now see why it was fitted this way round (well, not really - but i can see that something is up). The fitting between the "head" and the actual valve is a one-way fitment, and it's the wrong way.... Any thoughts?

Ideal Icos knocking - low water pressure?

Is it as simple as undoing the screws and switching it round then? Not quite sure what you are asking photos of, but here's two which may help:
