Anyone know whether you can lay slabs on existing concrete or do you have to dig up the concrete and then lay them. Assuming its relatively flat concrete - can I just throw on some sand then the slabs and thats it -this would save me a lot of time and effort.

I have bought an old House with old central heating. I was surprised to see the radiator pipes were very thin - around 1/4 inch. Anyone know when these particular sizes were used in houses and should I replace them (and probably the old boiler also)? or just leave them since it works?
