Water pours out of washing machine drawer

We've recently moved house and I've just plumbed our old washing machine in and when we used it water poured out of the front soap powder drawer and all over the floor. We turned it off quickly, it never did this in our old house and I've checked the trap is clear. Any help would be great.

Which plumber is right Regarding room thermostat?

Thanks for the replys I don't fancy having it moved into the living room as there are 2 big radiators in there already. I will look in the FAQ but what I don't understand is how it worked before? Thats if it worked.
