Shed roof felt - I was a numpty

Thanks guys, well I moved the shed out, I used a shovel to lever it up, then put some metal bars underneath to act as rollers. I'll have a think, it rained last night and is dry inside but I think it's best to redo or seal it somehow. Cheers,

Shed roof felt - I was a numpty

Hi guys, Hope everyone is well and nearly ready for Christmas! Yesterday I took delivery of one of my presents - a shed! All excited and wanting to get it up whilst we had a day of dry (first one in two weeks) I battled the wind and put it up. However in my rush I tacked the roof felt to the...

Emergency roof repair - leaking valley

So I am at the end of my tether with this. We had a leak in a bad storm which resulted in water coming through the plaster in the bedroom. I went into the loft and the leak was in the worst of places to get to. The ceilings up stairs are high, and ceiling is pitched as it gets towards the...

    I messed up...

Sorry yes, walls of text are annoying. I have the door fitted now, and it closes all of the way around apart from the closing bottom corner. I've ran some sheets of paper all around the bottom, top and side near the hinges and also the face of the door, and it travels around it ok. The door...

    I messed up...

Ok, so I took the door off today, straightened the bottom edge then rebuilt the step, I then made a wedge for the top corner that was shaved down and tacked it on, then smoothed the join with epoxy resin, just waiting for the paint to dry now to see how it looks!

    I messed up...

I decided to fit a nice new (old) front door to our house. It had a modern door on, and being a house that was built in the 920's I wanted a door to match. I searched and found a suitable door that we loved the look of. I spent two weeks stripping and prepping the door, epoxying the cracks...

I failed miserably at drilling holes in the wall!

Wow lol. Can't say I enjoyed it either, and it's so annoying having perfect walls and then having to ruin one!

I failed miserably at drilling holes in the wall!

Ok so I managed to get three good fixings in the brick, and the three dodgy ones in mortar I driled out larger (but not as large as some doweling I had). Pre tapped the doweling then hammered them into the holes, they went in super tight. I then filled around the edges, dried and painted then...

I failed miserably at drilling holes in the wall!

Well, we have been redecorating our bedroom, and along with that have had to touch up and re-skim the old walls to make them good. We finally had the finished product with the walls all painted, then I remembered I had to attach the TV bracket to the wall! So, I started with a small drill...

    4-way light switch

Four terminals, not 2 or 3. The switch that goes in the middle of the circuit to cross the other two sources over and enable switching of the same source from three switches. The wiring in the house is wired in such a way that you need two 3 way switches and one four way in the middle.

    4-way light switch

Hi, This is driving me crazy, my house has three switches, a four way in the middle downstairs which has cracked. I am looking for a 4-way stainless switch to replace the plastic one and to match the other stainless, but before we even get into that, no one I can find even sells a regular...

    Bathroom electrics - Lighting specific

The bathroom is fairly big and I woudln't have worried at all, but due to the shower there can be some fair condensation in there with the temp ramped up on the shower, as it is the over the bath type. If it was just the case of water, I would have said that no direct contact with water would...

    Bathroom electrics - Lighting specific

That's great thanks. I bought mine without really thinking and as the lights were recessed in and they are on the ceiling in the centre the chances of water directly getting on them is slim, but I didn't really think about the condensation too much, I sealed around the back plate the the...

    Bathroom electrics - Lighting specific

Hi, No I'm asking how they are IP rated (spotlight specific for GU10 for bathrooms) as to me it looks as though the other IP44 rated units have bulbs sticking out and just a seal over the back of the bulb, other than that it they look like a normal unit. I wanted to know what to look for...
