Something to finish where wooden floor meets tiled floor

Hi all, As title says. We have wooden floor (dining room) which meets tiled floor (kitchen). We did have a sliding door in between but this has been removed. The gap in the runner has been filled in. I just need something to cover/tidy the gap (approx 120mm) between where wood meets tile...

    Damp problem - advice needed

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice please :) The brickwork at the corner of one of our outside walls is damp, with the mortar coming away, bricks feeling damp to the touch, and with a white powdery substance seeping from the bricks (more noticable when the weather is dry and cold). In...

One specific light causing all lights in house to flicker

Hi all, occasionally all lights in the house will flicker, sometimes (but not always) causing the lights to trip. I've narrowed this down to a specific light - the problem only happens when the hall light is on. Any ideas? Thanks in advance :)

Radiator only working every now and then

The radiator in our kitchen is a little temperamental at the moment. Most of the time it is cold, but when I turn all other rads down, and turn the central heating up, it will start working again. I have also gently tapped the radiator near to where the incoming valve is with a hammer - this...

    Clicking radiator

Two of my upstairs radiators emit annoying clicking and tapping sounds when the boiler is fired up. Thinking that they had air in them, I bled both radiators to get rid of trapped (which there was). However, the radiators are still making these clicking sounds! What else could be wrong? I\\\'ve...

    Installing a radiator

Whoever installed the central heating in my house prior to moving in is having a laugh, because there is no radiator in the living room. This, coupled with the fact that the window in this room was poorly fitted (currently having the window 'sealed' properly to stop this draft), makes the room...
