Hope this makes things a bit clearer... I figured that glueing (using no-more-nails or similar) was the best approch to fixing the edges which were already fairly bumpy to begin with. The metal edging makes the edges nice and straight. I have a sharp lip against which to run my papering knife...

I bought stainless steel angle strips from B&Q. I could get them in colours as well but the steel finish worked well with the paper. I glued them onto the corners and then papered up to the strip. Simples. Excellent result. :mrgreen:

Excuse my noobieness.... but would an appropriate plasticizer be PVA glue? And if so/not how much shiould I use in a typical 4-1 mix? Ta

I have the same problem but, in my case, I'm using a black mortar dye on a red brick wall. There is a signficiant amount of smearing (mostly because this is my first wall and I'm rubbish at pointing). The wall looks fantastic :D - though I'm only on course 5 of 12 but I'm properley worried...
