Neff appliances discrepancy watts vs amps

My theory though is that if I run the hob circuit as the only live circuit overnight my meter on the wall will tell me I have used 1kw overnight. I am going to test this and will report back. Appreciate your input and appreciate what you are saying so will check what the results are in the morning.

Neff appliances discrepancy watts vs amps

Thanks again. So assuming 'no fault' don't you consider this very misleading when they say it only uses 2w in standby but actually it is using 170w - that's a massive difference to the electricity bill!

Neff appliances discrepancy watts vs amps

Thanks for the reply. On that basis I am correct to assume there is some fault to these devices that requires attention, but any idea what proof I should take to Neff as their engineers are not knowledgeable enough in this area and their test equipment appears to be no better than my own. I...

Neff appliances discrepancy watts vs amps

We have Neff appliances and ran into an excessive energy bill recently. As such I started troubleshooting what might be the cause and by process of elimination and with the help of an energy device monitor it told me the built in microwave was using 50 to 60w even when not in use. A similar...

    Damp

Thanks for the reply. I don't have the name of the paint but it is something I will try and find. They drilled holes probably at about 15cm centers and 'injected' a liquid damproofing which I assume contains silicon. To didnt have much faith that the job had been done properly but at the...

    Damp

I have an end of terrace property with a raised timber floor (to the orginal part of house), and a concrete floor to the rear extension (kitchen). The original house was probably built in the 40's at a guess. When I bought the house it was a condition of the mortgage I had 'damproofing' carried...

Samsung American Fridge Freezer - lokrings or brazing or..?

Thanks again. Do you get lokrings with 2 different size connections on each side. Come to think of it, because he kept cutting off the failed connections (making the pipwork shorter each time) to me it meant it was fixing itself to the fridge side but not to the drier side which he had also...

Samsung American Fridge Freezer - lokrings or brazing or..?

Thanks for the reply. The problem is he has now used up any pipe available for a connection. The pipe now disappears into the fridge above which is behind a panel which doesn't seem easily removed. In your opinion is there still a chance to repair that? What I am puzzled by is if the lokrings...

Samsung American Fridge Freezer - lokrings or brazing or..?

Ok so I am told the engineer was attempting to use lokrings to make the repair. Is this the 'industry' standard these days or where needs must should brazing be used?

Samsung American Fridge Freezer - lokrings or brazing or..?

We have the abovementioned fridge/freezer which began to make a noise and stopped freezing. We called an engineer and he diagnosed the compressor was gone. The second time they came back they had the new compressor but said the pipework was a non standard size so they had to go away to get more...

Baxi Solo 60 doesnt seem to have gas supply

Yes that is the model and thanks for replying! You are also correct about the reset but I think that only applies after an overheat situation. Right now it seems I can turn it on and off as much as I like but all I get is the spark. Would it be dangerous to let it try for a few minutes, right...

Baxi Solo 60 doesnt seem to have gas supply

So we turned our boiler off over summer and as work was being done outside I took the oppertunity to replace the gas meter box which was falling off the wall, not that this probably has much relevance but obviously I turned the mains supply off while I did this. Gas meter is now properly secured...

Chocbox & block connectors to extend stove connection

Thanks for the quick replies! From what you are saying it sounds best I get a new cable run, but the one in there at the moment (jumbled with other cables will not budge as it navigates the back of the stairs and supporting timbers etc).

Chocbox & block connectors to extend stove connection

The house we are in currently has no 6mm stove cable connection in use. There is a piece of cable going through a passage ceiling and into the ceiling space of the kitchen but it is too short for its location and it is not connected to the distribution board. The question is - is it feasible to...

    Wall preparation, paint removal

We have what I think is an enamel based paint on all the internal walls in the house. It is shiny and comes off flaky if we scrape it off but this is hard work. Does anyone have any other ideas how to remove it - we are thinking maybe a belt sander but would prefer not to make so much dust? Also...

    Telephone extensions wiring (diagram)

I think Lectrician is right - you dont want to have to carry the adsl modem to each room in order to use the internet. The best solution for you is to keep the broadband on the main incoming line (you run the risk of it becoming difficult to identify problems later if you have so many faceplates...

inverted circuit raditors do not get warm (execpt for one!)

yes, it is basically the radiators that are on drop runs from the first floor, there are several drops as the pipes need to drop to ground floor level and then return to first floor level back to the boiler. I believe this is called an inverted loop (my mistake to say inverted radiators!)...

inverted circuit raditors do not get warm (execpt for one!)

I am getting old fast trying to solve this one - recently moved into new house, concrete floor means all ground floor rads are served from above. All radiators upstairs get nice and hot as I would expect and can control their temps using the thermostatic control valves nicely. The radiators...
