    Party Wall Extension alongside Extension/Convervatory

Ok, so I've dug a hole down on our side where the conservatory starts. There's actually a wall along the boundary - taken down where their extension is but runs from where conservatory starts - and the conservatory sits the other side of that. It looks to have brick strip foundations, no...

    Party Wall Extension alongside Extension/Convervatory

Yeah, can't say I would blame anyone for not agreeing, if that's all they need to do to get a surveyor and it won't cost them anything. Reassuring o_O Fair, wouldn't be happy if my neighbour had me pay towards a surveyor if it was for their benefit. Also reassuring :) Oh I think I read...

    Party Wall Extension alongside Extension/Convervatory

Hi Woody, Yeah I feel that this does require PWA anyway, will find out for sure when we dig some trial holes and check the foundation depth - when we get a little less rain. Unless building control were happy excavating to the depth of the conservatory I don't think we can invalidate it :) I'm...

    Party Wall Extension alongside Extension/Convervatory

Hi Rusty, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately I don't think they will agree to sign anything, they seem pretty convinced that a surveyor is required. I've already explained that it won't stop the work going ahead, and we'd still be liable for any damage, and building inspectors would be on site...

    Party Wall Extension alongside Extension/Convervatory

Hi all, we're due to start building a kitchen extension at the end of the month, plans all approved last December. We'll be knocking down our current kitchen (already an extension) and building further out to the end of the neighbour's extension and conservatory - conservatory added on to...

    Dimmable cabinet lights

I think the best option is going to be a flexible LED strip with an in-line dimmer, warm white, 2.5m for £32. Or to be really fun have a colour changing remote controlled set for £42! That sounds tempting :D

    Dimmable cabinet lights

Right, that makes sense. I think my only options are 230V dimmable downlights which means I'll need to make a cover/shelf/something for the light fitting where it comes into the cupboard. Might be the best option for what I want. That or non-dimmable small round teeny weeny things. Shame...

    Dimmable cabinet lights

I didn't really want to use a GU10 as it would require drilling a big hole in the base of the cupboards and having the connector wotsit sticking into where clothes/stuff will be. Might be the only option to have proper dimmable LEDs underneath though.

    Dimmable cabinet lights

Another question: There are dimmable LED drivers which output 12V, would they work with under cabinet LED lights and be dimmable?

    Dimmable cabinet lights

I'm currently fitting some wardrobes and would like to have some lights under the bridging units above the bed, preferably dimmable. I'm thinking LED and there are plenty of small LED cabinet lights but as far as I can tell they're not dimmable and obviously there are GU10, etc. type...

    Cooker and Hob Installation

So if the hob requires a 13A fuse or comes with a plug attached is it ok to run a 6mm to a plug socket/SFCU in the cupboard? The CCU will be on the wall near the hob.

    Cooker and Hob Installation

The hob is a domino hob with two gas and one electric so is only 3kW. The appliances are being delivered tomorrow so haven't looked at instructions yet, just looked at the ratings. There is a cooker outlet beneath the switch so can just use that.

    Cooker and Hob Installation

I have a Neff Cooker and Hob (3.8kW and 3kW) which will be connected to a 45A cooker switch with 6mm cable. Both appliances are under the 32A of the breaker so can they both be directly connected or do they need seperately fusing (cooker is 16.5A and hob is 13A)?
