Kitchen Papered, now shrinking and lifting.

Thanks Robbie. Paste was correct thickness and edges had plenty. Been papering myself for 20+ years and never had this happen. Will look for a stronger adhesive when I redo and just test on one wall. Going to wash the wall down with sugar soap spay, give it a good rub with sand paper and coat...

Kitchen Papered, now shrinking and lifting.

I papered my kitchen this weekend, and did a sterling job, or so I thought. 24 hours after finishing, the odd seem started to show; its very dark paper over a light pained wall, so it's quite obvious. Now 48 hours on, many more seems are showing and the paper is lifting quite badly. If I pull...

[/url] I will definitely be doing this. Thanks for the link.

    Extending ring main methods

I rearranged the conductors and removed several others to make a proper much simpler ring as in option 1. I really don't know what I was thinking of with option 2, I even revisited the sockets I thought had originally been put in in this way but I was mistaken - they were all wired correctly...

    Extending ring main methods

I will be re-doing it properly. Its on a new build and we haven't boarded it out yet so re-routing the conductors wont be to arduous.

Yes, your drawing illustrates option 2 more clearly.

    Extending ring main methods

I preferred option 2 because this is how I have installed it (just not connected up yet). I have seen this layout elsewhere in my house, which was professionally rewired just after the part-p scheme came out. It was only when I stepped back and thought about it that it seemed wrong. I suppose...

    Extending ring main methods

I have extended my property with a new porch/utility room. I intend on extending my kitchens ring main and adding 4 new double sockets to the new room. The washer and dryer will be running from the new outlets. Option 1 below is the desired arrangement, but my question is specifically about...

    Door lining wrong size

I have knocked through an internal brick wall and installed a lintel an door lining and filled in the gaps around the edge with mortar. I have made a mistake though and fitted a 105mm deep lining (which is flush to the bricks) and not accounted for the depth of the plaster. My question is do I...

    Static Caravan Wiring

I have purchased a static caravan. I would like to add a coin operated electric meter to it. Are there any regulations, Part P etc. that would prevent me from doing this myself? Thanks Craig

    Shower Fire - Explanation Needed

That burn mark on the third wire isn't actually burn mark. It's where some of the melted plastic has come off and is casting a shadow from the camera flash. You will see pics 1 and 2 do not show this apparent burn. I have emailed Triton about all of this and they are sending out an...

    Shower Fire - Explanation Needed

johnnojob - I fail to see the point you are trying to make. I posted on this forum for advice and help, which 99.9% of the time is fantastic. You don't appear to be offering any positive contribution. For your info, I fitted this unit (initially from new then again at a later date) as per...

    Shower Fire - Explanation Needed

Think you are right DP. I have been looking at other forums that all mention poor connections. I just checked the terminal closest to the melted wires and it is a bit loose. I'm guessing that this would have been a gradual process, each time it got hot it would have loosened a bit more each time?

    Shower Fire - Explanation Needed

I awoke this morning to a familiar burning smell. It was originating from the bathroom, specifically the shower. Which my son was using at the time. I isolated it immediately at the pull cord string then at the fusebox. The surface of the plastic shower housing was extremely hot. I removed...
