Please help - which is best

Hi - yes I think it is correctly installed, in line with the diagram on the literature that I have seen. Since having the new boiler installed I have had a very noisy system much of which is attributable to air - was very quiet with my old Potterton Kingfisher which I would give a kings ransom...

Please help - which is best

Thank you 45yearsagasman Would the boiler have overheat protection? It is a WB 40cdi conventional. I think I may ask my (lovely) RGI to come and re-plumb to combined feed if this is common practice.

Please help - which is best

Please can someone give an opinion on this. I am trying to fine tune my system and have been trying to eliminate the air that the pump pulls in from my open vented system. The RGI installed an aerjec de-aerator but it does gurgle a bit and hasn't eliminated the problem. The RGI I had do...

    aerjec de-aerator

I have an open vented ch system which has always drawn some air in. I have had to vent my towel rails every 3-4 days. Yesterday an RGI fitted an aerjec de-aerator into the system and I wondered if these are any good. It certainly makes quite a lot of gurgling noise.

    Boiler Temperture

I have a Worcester Greenstar 40cdi - conventional open vented system, with an automatic bypass valve. My system layout was H shaped and pulled in quite a lot of air as I have a 15/60 pump. Today I have had an Aerjec de-aerator put in and the pipes 'tied'. Pump over run is wired in and goes on...

Thanks Nige, I will call the guy who fitted it to check it out.

    'H' type pipework problems?

Have finally sorted out central heating system and all is working fine. I am left however with one or two minor irritations that I would like advice on. Since having a new boiler fitted (worcester greenstar 40cdi conventional) , my two towel rails make a noise like a toilet cistern...

    Pump Overrun

Sorry ChrisR - boiler is a Worcester Bosch 40cdi conventional.

    Pump Overrun

I have noticed that since the Worcester Bosch engineer put in a new pcb and heat exchanger (into my brand new boiler) there no longer seems to be a pump overrun when the boiler switches off. At least I think it was after he had been. I also had a new pump fitted by an RGI four days later...

    Yet another problem argh!

Hi - WB came back and fitted and new heat exchanger (as a matter of courtesy) - problem seems to have been solved :D - although I suppose I shouldn't speak too soon. I am to get a new pump fitted upgrading from the present 15/50 to a 15/60 as I don't think the present one is quite...

    Yet another problem argh!

Hi heatingman No not Richard Head. So are you saying that set at 3 (not sure what this relates to) it could stop the boiler losing heat? Hm that is interesting as I have already asked an RGI about this and they said they didn't think it entered into the equation. I have printed out some...

    Yet another problem argh!

Hi heatingman - make of bypass is not obvious - red with a black dial underneath with numbers :? I am getting a 15/60 pump installed on Thursday I think that with the new boiler a 15/50 isn't large enough for 22 radiators. Also getting an air vent fitted as I have been told that upping the...

    Yet another problem argh!

Just a thought, but if this is down to a flow problem, wanted to ask if the new automatic bypass valve could be responsible. It was put in at the same time as I had the power flush done and is set to number 3. I have noticed that, if and when the boiler has been running, and it switches off...

    Yet another problem argh!

Spoke WB again and they got their engineer to phone me. I explained that if and when the boiler does eventually decide that it will fire, the water is circulating in the radiators fine, all radiators getting hot, so how could it be a pump problem. He said that he would arrange for them to...

    Yet another problem argh!

Phoned WB at 7.10 am this morning and had engineer arrive at 8.30 am - can't say they don't provide service:) Anyway - at first he didn't think it was the boiler but there was no power between the boiler and pump valves etc. Said he would change the circuit board and it worked !!!!!! :D...

    Yet another problem argh!

What is worrying me more and more is the fact that the problem could have numerous causes. I just don't now know who I can get to solve this, with 3 RGI's letting me down. Do I now call a big company (Swale Heating is suppose to be good but work on the clock) BG (swore I wouldn't have them...

    Yet another problem argh!

Pump is a 15/50, automatic bypass is new and displaying the number 3. Timer is new as is the valve to the hot water tank. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.

    Yet another problem argh!

Thank you Steady. Have just been and checked the tank - plenty of water, so can rule that one out. Am coming to the conclusion that it is either air in the boiler - don't know whether it was vented after flushing but it makes gurgling noises when I try and turn it on - or whether it is...

    Yet another problem argh!

Thanks - going from bad to worse - boiler has now stopped working altogether just died. If this is a faulty boiler doesn't say much for WB.
