Biasi 24S No hot water from tap unless CH thermostat lit

Anyway, we've had a bit of a rat issue and today I unscrewed the circuit board panels, discovering 2x 50g empty bags of cashew nuts. Ratty obviously liked the insulation value and had pulled them all the way into the accessible zones of the boiler. It got them out of the kitchen sink...

    airbrick mesh suggestions needed

The Airbricks seem to be about 9" x 3" Bidrofocaum 0.005% red wax extruded blocks have already been laid (2 of them) inside by council rat man and were eaten in quite succession. We are waiting for return phone call or visit from him at some point. Meanwhile I am getting onto this...

    airbrick mesh suggestions needed

Not sure if this is the right place, but regulations and planning seems a logical place to post. Well, we have got a rat issue and I have checked the 6 airbricks. (Murder in progress) I have been cutting some mesh from a cheap source, aka splatter shields for cooking (clean ones) to...

Magnaclean Spirovent Fernox TF1 etc water particle filters

I was wondering what the latest insider knowledge regarding longevity/accessibility/revisions and alternatives on these water cleaning devices is. Namely, which is best overall. We might have one fitted with the next repair or service. I've just been reading about a washer issue in one...

Biasi 24S No hot water from tap unless CH thermostat lit

Well, it's been a while since I last posted on here. This boiler is just so damn reliable really and it may need fixing again. :) This is a common problem but I wonder if I can post enough detail here to get a one shot answer. I am almost fullly capable with a multimeter and I have the...

WEll, just an update. Finally, plumber was appointed for friday just gone, biasi specialist. changed flow diverter valve (don't know if diaphragm was a problem or not.) Changed gas valve and some other stuff inc service etc. Heating now works, job done. I can't help wondering how...

Fitting a Magnaclean - Installation Location on System

When I was looking at the magnafail last year, I'm reasonably sure that it had some sort of official award from an important "standards" group listed on the magnafail website, or perhaps I was already looking at the "other" device which is more appreciated, not that I can remember it!! How...

Advice needed on New, reputable boilers and Gas safe

 Not only that, but with space-age technology and materials, these new, "advanced" boilers, apart from water/oxygen related issues, they should perhaps last 100 years?[/u]

"FIXED" Biasi 24S Ignition spark on; No flame,

Transam, thanks for your boiler suggestion. I'll have a look. It's only a combination boiler currently, no condensing drains or anything like that.

"FIXED" Biasi 24S Ignition spark on; No flame,

Another way I look at it is, value related to size. I don't think some people can handle spending £10000 on a new car, but £2000 on a new boiler. Then again, 5 boilers would take up a lot of space lol......... Still lets face it, an envelope and a stamp for £20, re: the solicitors comment...

Advice needed on New, reputable boilers and Gas safe

So, it may be time to ditch my Biasi S24, because I expect that a diagnosis and any replaced parts could soon lead to other parts failing through lifespan, aging, corrosion means. Seems that based on scoring, I would need a condensing boiler. Or I could spend £400 quite easily on this old...

"FIXED" Biasi 24S Ignition spark on; No flame,

I'm the sort that can spend hours doing something, but getting nowhere fast. It's like a super procrastination. I know my limits in a too negative sense. The mechanics etc theoretically have more chance than me but they need several things.. 1) a steady mind 2) the right, safe...

"FIXED" Biasi 24S Ignition spark on; No flame,

I'm shocked, do people who are ultra unqualified mess with GAS fittings..... What a scary thought. Its not just if they are trying to save money....Its their life (obviously does not matter to themselves) their family, pets, the property, damage to surroundings, other people. Yes, I posted...

PRICING. CAN WE ALL AGREE ON HERE

That would be an interesting point to know what the minimum costs on a five year averaged figure are just to have a gas safe plumber breaking even each month.... AS you mention, licences etc, refresher courses, bureaucracy etc. I suppose could do the same for solicitors if they're...

"FIXED" Biasi 24S Ignition spark on; No flame,

Relax helpful GasSafe advisors. I have no intention of messing with the gas. I run a mile when I smell gas from the cooker, before its ignited. Anyway, I'm wondering if its time for the 9 year old boiler to be replaced to avoid any issues of lifetime scale build up, aging, worn parts, etc...
