Ah.. ok. I assumed that the F & E tanks made it grav HW and pumped CH. My apologies, just checked and it's 3 wire to cylinder stat. Doh! They all match up with the correct no's in 10 way box according to honeywell y plan drawing.

thanks, Not fully pumped as I have F & E tanks in loft. The cylinder stat only has 2 wires going in to it if I remember correctly, so not much to go wrong there?

Thanks, that makes sense I guess. I will look at perhaps getting the 3 port valve replaced. I have now put back on the cyliner stat and turned it down to see if it would shut off the CH but as of yet it hasn't closed the 3 port valve, as it normally would once the HW is satisfied? Sorry...

From what i've seen the switch stays on auto all the time. At no time does it move. Saying that it did move to the mid position when the power was cut.
