Bristan shower mixer-unit, wax controller, gone cold!

Yeh, the cartridge should unscrew. How big is your spanner? Might be scale sticking it in place so you could try some kettle descaler, white vinegar. But you've got a 5 year parts & labour guarantee, as you sent the reg off, so I'd try getting them round.

Bristan shower mixer-unit, wax controller, gone cold!

Calm down, are you sure your trying to unscrew the correct part? I've done that before - attacked a mixer with a spanner only to find I've been trying to unscrew the wrong bit. Could you take a pic of the mixer with and without the end caps off? Did you try WD-40? Did you register...

Bristan shower mixer-unit, wax controller, gone cold!

Have you got the original bristan instructions? If not see this pdf for an example: http://www.bristan.com/WebRoot/BristanDB/Shops/Bristan/Products/INSTRUC.%20PDF-1032384-D2.PDF Take a look at pages 3 which explains how to service the mixer and page 4 shows how it fits together - *but* it...

Bristan shower mixer-unit, wax controller, gone cold!

In general, Bristan thermostatic showers are very reliable (if fitted according their instructions) and stop the chance of being scalded in the shower; which can be quite likely with certain combi installs. Bristan are quite a good company to deal with and isn't your shower still under...

Grohtherm 1000 shower valve low flow

Isn't there a factory set flow limiter in the shower  which you can adjust to increase the flow rate. Other than that, check for crap in the filters, kink in the shower hose.

    tank overflowing pump constantly running

Hi, Are you sure one pump is on the domestic hot water (dhw)? From your pic I think you have a thermal store, therefore the 15-50 won't be on the dhw as you would have mains dhw. One pump will be to the boiler (you do have a boiler :?:) and the other to the rads. Thats my guest :) Your...

:? :? :? :? :? Sounds like you have a fortic cylinder, could you take a pic? What pumps do you have? Is the one on the hot water a Grundfos 15-90?

Anyone fitted an Ideal Standard Create Offset Corner Bath?

Oh dear, its annoying to say the least when jobs go wrong to the customer and plumber. Whats your installer say? Is he/she a big firm? or a one man band? If the bath wasn't fixed in properly why did the job carry on? Whats the floor constructed of under the bath?

    Moved Radiator

Sounds like you need to rebalance the rads, just run around the house turning the lockshields on the hot rads down a bit and the ones on the cold rads up a bit until all the rads are hot. With regard to the "pressure", don't quite understand what you mean; have you got a sealed system...

    Corgi / Gas safe FAQ

rofl, his other post is equally funny!!! I take it, if this sucker is for real, his new boiler is still gurgling; he can't work out why and the installer doesn't want to know. Feel the schadenfreude.
