Removing Old Gas Supply to House

Hi 3 Years ago I bought a bungalow (a corner plot) and at one end there is a gas supply with a meter that when isolated shuts off the gas to the house. My gas engineer has investigated as best he can and it seems this pipe is supplied from the road at that end of the house. At the other end of...

This reply is just abusive and you have no right what so ever to call myself or anyone else for that matter 'an idiot' just by reading a few comments on a forum. I will be reporting this to the moderators.

Thanks very much for your reply it is much appreciated. I'm a qualified control systems engineer but do not hold any of the certifications you mention. I would however be able to get the motor tested at work by one of our motor specialists. I'm not sure what you mean by type 1 unless you are...

Hello again and Merry Christmas The latest is that i drained the boiler and removed the diverter, which to be honest looked pretty clean (see image) and maybe of no consequence but the water i drained from the boiler was crystal clear. I gave the diverter paddle a wash anyway and replaced it...

Thanks for the replies. I'll have a go on boxing day. I guess i should isolate all the pipes and drain the boiler before i try and take it off/out?

Thanks for the reply. If its just the motor and paddle then what could it be? The motor is working and the paddle is moving up and down. Does the paddle not move something inside the diverter?

Hi My problem is that when i run the hot tap the boiler fires up, the rad flow gets hot and the DHW pipe only gets warmish. After reading various posts it is likely to be the diverter valve or something associated with that. (please correct me if i'm wrong). On the attached image the motor is...

Vaillant vcw sine CH & DHW luke warm

Hi everyone When i turn the tap or the heating on the boiler fires up but the flames inside are noticably smaller than i seem to remember, maybe about an inch instead of inch & half with an orange tinge to the tips. The hot water is luke warm and the rads don't get very warm either. I've bled...

    Vaillant Problem

Not sure about the water in hartlepool but i am sure about the flow switch being on the left hand side of the boiler which then leads me to think i am not sure if it is a VCW and or a Sine. My manual is for both. Re Quote - "The water is not hard in Carlisle"

thanks for the info ChrisR I've adjusted the switch and all seems ok. You seemed knowledgable on the Boiler I have i don't suppose you would know why my heating is making a whining/whiring noise after about 5 mins of being switched on. It seems to becoming from the upper half somewhere at the...
