    Yes red_man but only a small trickle considering the pressure goes way off the scale and I believe it is set to blow at 3 bar.

    cheers micilin, guess the info wasn't completely wrong then! I intended to do a little practice ceiling in the garage anyway so think I will try it half and half to see how it comes out. If it all falls off the brown side guess I'll be changing them all :lol: but going with the opinions...

    No haven't checked that sambotc, guess i shall be having a look at that tomorrow. Yes baxpoti I am sure incompetence probably has a lot to do with the problem. That's why I am asking the more competent people on here, am sure you more learned folk will have some decent suggestions.

    could a blocked rad cause such problems? Seems odd that all the upstairs rads heat up perfectly but downstairs they struggle to reach full temperature. Haven't checked pipework but assumed that with the rad closest to the boiler which is about 2 feet away would be the first to heat up, guess...

    Thanks all for the quick response, if that's the case think I'll go with the PVA as it was such a hassle getting the boards up in the first place really don't wanna have to take em down and start again. At least I know better for next time (must remember to read the print before fitting)...
