I have photos now of the valve and control panel wiring. How do I post them in here?

The cylinder thermostat is new. I will check if valve is on right way round. If its on incorrectly will that make the hot water come on separately?

the immersion switch is off usually. we have been turning it on for about an hour a day amid the warm weather because that's the only way we could get hot water when the heating was off.

Thanks for the responses. Over the weekend i will write down makes and models of all the parts and take some photos of the wiring. Yes, he charged me £70 as that's how much the valve was from Screwfix. i saw the bill.

Good evening, i have the above problem and i understand i have to replace the battery in the interior control panel to stop this happening. However as soon as i undo a screw on the control panel the alarm goes off. How do i stop this happening? Thanks in anticipation Doug

Guys i have looked everywhere for the control panel box but cxan't find it. Someone said it was palm sized and would have two wires coming out of it. Is it the box the alarm sound comes out of? I hgave looked in the loft, the airing cupboard and elsewhere but can't find anything whuich looks...

it is a palm-sized box with lights and keypad so the battery must be in there

I can't find the main box. Is it the one with the lighst and the keypad on or is there another box somewhere else in the house?
