Insulating and cladding a summerhouse roof

I am planning to insulate a 6M x 3M wooden pitched roof summerhouse in my garden. My plan was to use 80mm celotex between the (100mm) rafters and hold up with tongue and groove cladding. The issue I can see though is that the 10 rafters run from the front of the summerhouse to the back...

    Summerhouse roof drainage

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to have to locate the water butt towards the front and away from the Summerhouse as there is only about 60cm clearance around the back as it is sited close to our neighbours wall. Also as the butt is likely to overflow on the winter (as i don't have access to a...

    Insulating/decorating a summer house

I thought that the tapered edge plasterboard would be better as the cracks could be filled and sanded. With MDF you would be able to see the joins unless you line it with paper or something. It is a good size space so want to make it as much like a normal room as possible i.e. although it is a...

I have a 5M x 3M summer house in my garden which i am thinking of insulating so that we can use it more often. It is basically 100mm wooden battens with tongue & groove outer skin. I was thinking of insulating between the battens with 70mm Celotex or Kingspan or similar and then boarding over...

    Flush mount door contact

Can anyone recommend a reliable flush mount door contact suitable for mounting in my front door which is wooden? I'm not sure if they come in different sizes but if so the smaller the better so as not to weaken the frame.

    Recommended system and remote keypad

Thanks. I'll go and get some phone cable then. Also i know it is not recommended to run alarm cables with mains (power/lighting) cables but is it Ok to cross them at right angles or run close to them for short distances. If so what is the minimum clearance.

    Recommended system and remote keypad

Do these add on dialers need to connect to a telephone landline? If so, as i am only running cables at present (prior to getting my hallway plastered), could i use a six core alarm cable as a telephone cable or do i need to buy specific telephone cable, which i think is four core?
