Seperating Upstairs / Downstairs rads into Zones

I’m in the middle of a major house renovation, doing as much as I’m able to myself. When we moved in 18months ago, we had the boiler replaced, but linked to existing (at least 30years old) pipework. I want to make a change to my setup so that I can independently control the upstairs and...

    Combi or System boiler?

Thanks for the reply. 3 bathrooms plus downstairs loo. Rare that more than one will be used at the same time. Can't check the dynamic flow rate yet, but will be sure to do that next time I get access. I don't expect our hot water requirements to change much from our current smaller house.

    Combi or System boiler?

I'll be moving in a few weeks time to a 5bed detached Victorian house in need of lots of TLC. One of my primary tasks is to have a new heating / hot water system installed and I'm torn between going for a high powered Combi or a System boiler with Megaflo tank. Considering Vaillant or Worcester...

    Baxi 105e, no CH, uuurrgh...

Has no-one any ideas what could have caused the CH to stop working, but now it is working? Something somewhere must have stuck.

    Baxi 105e, no CH, uuurrgh...

Ok, really really strange... CH now works, but don't know why... After sending the kids to bed with hot water bottles last night, I turned the boiler off overnight. This morning turned it back on and it was exactly the same... HW, but no CH, even though the controls were demanding it:( The...

How confident are you that it's the CH Thermistor? And by this do you mean the CH temperature sensor?

    Baxi 105e, no CH, uuurrgh...

This is the 105e Instant. There is definitely demand from the external controls. At a loss for where to go with it from here. I'm comfortable working with plumbing and electrics but think I'll maybe need to call someone out if no one has any other ideas. So second question... where...

    Baxi 105e, no CH, uuurrgh...

Yes, HW is working ok, but no CH. The CH light doesn't light up even though the thermostat is asking for demand - have actually replaced thermostat with link wire to prove thermostat wasn't at fault. Stuck for ideas...

    Baxi 105e, no CH, uuurrgh...

Boiler set to permanently on, Thermostat turned up so that it clicks to fire up the boiler... but boiler isn't firing up:( DHW is working fine, on demand. No fault lights flashing. Pressure is ok at 1bar. All was working fine this morning, but now house is cold:( Could the...

Replacing dial thermostat with Honeywell CM907...

Just wired it up, and works perfectly :D Couldn't find an earthing point on the CM907, so just blocked that wire off. Really strange because I installed it exactly the same way yesterday afternoon, and couldn't get the central heating to work at all. Done it again now and all works perfectly!

Replacing dial thermostat with Honeywell CM907...

I have an old style Honeywell dial thermostat (T6360B). This has three wires connected from my Baxi 105he combi boiler... Brown from the boiler to terminal 1 in the thermostat Blue 'switch' wire from the boiler to terminal 3 in the thermostat Earth to the earch terminal in the thermostat...

Arrrrggghhh... Baxi 105he, no central heating:(

I left the boiler with it's timer in the off mode overnight. This morning I moved the timer to 'on', and the radiators are suddenly working fine again, albeit still with the old thermostat. Absolutely crazy, I haven't done anything else other than give the old boiler a rest :o I'll start a...

Arrrrggghhh... Baxi 105he, no central heating:(

I thought it would be a good idea to replace my old Honeywell dial thermostat with a Honeywell cm107 programmer/thermostat combined :D The wiring is the same according to both thermostat's wiring diagrams with two wires connecting to two terminals in the combi boiler. Should be a straight swap...
