    Hello, Thanks for all that. This is what I thought of doing, because its a fairly cheap repair. I read that PTFE tape only works on tapered threads, could this be an issue?

    Hello, This is a non return and anti vacuum valve. I don't think they make them anymore. I can't stop the leak, does anyone know of a suitable replacement. Thanks.

    Sort of but its got a big chimney style nut coming out of the side instead, fitted about 1990, so might not be used any more.

    No that's not it. I tried 2 wrenches but if you include this other thing on top of the stopcock, there is about 4 nuts.

    I have a brass mains stopcock, but there is also another valve type thing just above it, and I wondered what this is? I tried tightening one of the nuts but the whole assembly goes one way and then the other. Can anyone help me please?
