    CH Pipe Layout Advice

yes very good point there and sound advice but I suppose I'm thinking (or hoping!) it might make the system more efficient as I'll be going from a one one pipe system to a two one pipe system?

    CH Pipe Layout Advice

I've just added a new radiator in the utility and its working well but when I revealed the 22mm feed and return to tee into (15mm), it became apparent that they come down from the boiler upstairs and the ground floor rads are teed off in one 15mm loop and then proceed to go upstairs in 15mm to...

    Stop cock/tap?

Thanks for all your replies, think I'll go with the 1/4 turn Peglar. On anoher note, the supply pipe is 15mm, is this 'normal'?

    Stop cock/tap?

Hi folks, I need to replace my internal stop tap and was wondering if it would be ok to use one of these http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-ball-valve-blue-15mm/11085?_requestid=1683919 or should it be one of these? http://www.screwfix.com/p/pegler-stop-tap-15mm/15440?_requestid=1684266 or...

Barrier Pipe to new rad under floor - mice protection?

Thanks for the replies chaps, I'm thinking I might be erring on the side of the copper option but I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can put some sort of conduit on the plastic stuff that would deter the rodents, I wonder if they meant the stuff you use when encasing the pipe in concrete?

Barrier Pipe to new rad under floor - mice protection?

I'm adding a radiator in the utility room as it currently doesn't have one (its the end of the garage!) and I can tee into the 22mm feed and return pipes with 15mm and I was thinking of using plastic barrier pipe but I've read that mice could be a problem (it'll be under the ground floor...

    18v combi drill?

Blimey!! I'm even more pleased with it now!!! Just out of interest I was in Screwfix the other day and out of curiosity I picked up a Makita 3.0Ah on display for £199 and I have to say it looked and felt like a real quality drill

    18v combi drill?

I've just used the FatMax for quite a while this afternoon and can report its performed admirably so I wouldn't hesitate in recommending it, and its good value for £99!

    18v combi drill?

Went for the Stanley Fatmax in the end, 2 x 1.5Ah batts and 3 yr warranty for £99. First impressions are its well made and looks and feels a reasonable quality product, I'll let you know how I get on using it in the near future! Thanks for all the replies

    18v combi drill?

Thanks for the replies chaps, that Metabo certainly looks good. I notice that most of these don't appear to have the auxillary handle that my current Bosch has which I find rather useful, can these be retro fitted at all? (don't think so!)

    18v combi drill?

Well my old 24v Bosch combi drill just died so I'm after a replacement, its for moderate DIYing so looking at around the £100-£140 mark, considering the Bosch GSB 19-2-Li on offer at Screwfix or the Stanley Fatmax on offer at Argos are either of these ok or am I barking up the wrong tree...

Air hose quick release couplings - HELP!!!

Hi, just purchased a 10m hose with 1/4bsp ends for my compressor and to go with it, I aquired a male and female quick release coupling to suit the 1/4 bsp ends on the hose. All fitted nicely until I came to connect the hose to the compressor.... male into compressor outlet fits but not as the...

    3/4" Shower Mixer inlet

Hi, I've just been trying to get my bar shower mixer to stop leaking and when I replaced it on the 3/4" inlet stubs, one of the fibre washers failed and I had a leak! I had a root about in the garage and found an o-ring the same size and it seems to have done the job. My question is, can I...
