No bath, no shower - not a bathroom?

I think I'll have to work around the stupid shaver socket in the short term. Leave it as is. I'm going to have to get a sparky in to do the other notifiable work anyway, and they can do all the silly little jobs at the same time. Thanks for all your advice and definitive answers. Jason

No bath, no shower - not a bathroom?

The shaver box is on the lighting circuit. If it connects in the ceiling rose, could I disconnect it there and remove the box entirely. Sounds like the existing cable would not be fit for purpose for mirror lighting.

No bath, no shower - not a bathroom?

Thanks. Reading part P - I could not see specifically the see the case of removal. I will remove it then - fit a waterproof junction box / termination out the way. My fear was that a sparky would see it, and refuse to touch it since the work was not carried out by-the-book. Yes...

    Tiling on painted/damaged plasterboard walls

I agree about using the same company for Tanking and Adhesive ( That was my plan at one point ). I was going to go with the dunlop Adhesive too, but talked myself out of that. BAL does seem to be the most popular - But so many variants to choose from blue/green/white star/Single Part...

    Tiling on painted/damaged plasterboard walls

The emulsion paint seems powdery, It didn't pull of flakes of paint or anything like that. So Assuming I tile on the surface I have. The Dunlop kit contains a primer, ( not sure if this is acrylic ) so slap this on as per instructions. Then the water proof coating. Then using...

    Tiling on painted/damaged plasterboard walls

Thanks Richard, Tanking has always been the plan, A Dunlop tanking kit is sitting in by screwfix basket. Ripping the lot down then stud walling etc is a lot of work ( for me ). And will double the depth of the wall. I guess that moved into the relms of structual work which will require...

Old House replastering and getting rid of Artex

I recently had some asbestos panels removed from my house. The guy that did this also pointed out that Artex contained Asbestos, and may require special removal. ( full quarantine if they are cleaning an artex ceiling brought down by water damage ) May have just been a horror story, but you...
