Trying to dismantle a shower screen

I can get the sliding door out but I don't see how that will help me clean the mouldy mess between the fixed panel and bottom frame.

Trying to dismantle a shower screen

No. It's always been like that. Just the fixed glass panel sitting in the frame, with the frame behind it at the bottom. There's no sealant between the bottom edge of the frame and glass on the inside so soapy water gets in. It was like that when I moved in a year ago. Only just got to the top...

Trying to dismantle a shower screen

I'm not bothered about the mess. I'm only bothered about not breaking the glass.

Trying to dismantle a shower screen

I want to remove the fixed glass panel from this shower cubicle screen. The reason being to clean the unsightly mould between the glass and metal frame behind it. Whoever fitted it didn't think to seal between the glass and frame, so soapy water gets in and sits and goes mouldy. I thought by...

Boiler Pressure Drop Only When Heating On

My combi boiler is a Vokera Easi-Heat Plus. It's losing pressure when the heating is on but not when running hot water. The pressure drop doesn't affect the heating, ie the rads warm up and stay warm. I simply top up the pressure each time. What's the mostly likely cause of the pressure drop...

Water Pooling in Bath Plug Hole

I don't fully understand this. What's the purpose of taping the overflow and what's the sponge if the overflow is sealed off?

Water Pooling in Bath Plug Hole

What are the most likely causes of water remaining in the plug hole after the bath has drained and how to fix? This is a bath in a rented place and the recently replaced bath panel has been completely sealed with silicone, so looking for possible fixes that don't involve taking it off. The...

    Fix for Swollen Kitchen Worktop

Thanks for the feedback. I can't afford to replace it just now, so I've had to bodge it more than the fitter. I'll make sure I get someone who knows what they are doing though, when I get round to replacing it.

    Fix for Swollen Kitchen Worktop

Thought as much. My guess is it's a Howdens worktop because the kitchen appliances are from there. It was fitted about 6 or 7 years ago. Long before I moved in. I doubt they'll still be making it, so might have to replace the whole lot.

    Fix for Swollen Kitchen Worktop

Hi. Are the any fixes for a swollen kitchen worktop? It's very close to the sink, as you can see from the photos, so keeping further water out is going to be very difficult. Could I cut out some of the core, apply sealant and clamp it down?

    Installing a wall light

You're correct about the 3 T&E. The second switch is at the other end of the hallway. So I simply replace this switch with a 2-gang and wire as you've shown, with the other end of the new T&E running to the new wall mounted lamp. Correct?
