Depends, its really hard to diagnose without inspecting it myself but a local pc shop may look at it and find something really simpe, charge a small fee and fix it. On the other hand they may find its dead and you'll still get charged for the inspection work. It's a crap situation sorry buddy.

To be honest, it may be worth just getting a new laptop.

Try the hard drive in a different pc to rule that out. Take out the battery, the cd drive tye ram plug it in and try the power.

a lot could be wrong, powering it up may have shorted something that would have been fine if left to dry (shame you weren't told before) take it apart as fully as you are comfortable with, clean any excess liquid and leave somewhere warm (not hot) to dry for a day or so.

take it to a local pc repair shop and ask if they could try it with some spare (second hand) RAM, they always have them around. If not, they can advise you on what you need an probably order it in foy you. This way, if it's wrong they are responsible for sending it back etc.
