    Correct, the roof is an overhang that you can stand under outside. Might make a little trap door & cupboard tho`. John ..when you say "then a continuous layer over - 30-40mm" ...what do you mean? Like some sort of insulation sheet. Thanks

    Thanks John Thats pretty much it. On the other side is the void of a slopping roof. Ive stripped off the boards and was thinking of filling the stud wall with cellotex. http://www.diy.com/departments/celotex-cw4000-insulation-board-w450mm-l12m-t50mm/307375_BQ.prd Does this sound okay?

    Thanks for the replys. Yes its the chimney that is too long (top - bottom) If the chimney was the exact size required, its would slide in on top of the extractor unit and then drop down 2 - 3mm but I just cant slide it in. Im thinking a file might be the only answer. Im not too...
