thank you everybody. Still waiting for hte plumber to come back with the new board.

:? the plumber has been, he now says the boiler needs a new board. He has no idea how much this will cost, does anyone else? Will I need a new mortgage?? In the meantime its getting a bit nippy here in the evenings!

I AM puzzled, and as I said I just wanted to seem a bit more savvy when the plumber comes on Saturday. He installed the bloomin' thing, but he seems as puzzled as I am :? If it was something simple I might attept myself, but as you say it looks as if it could be ANYTHING!! Will have to wait...

it does indeed flash about 4 times per second. have read the manual but can find nothing helpful, except it says it has a serious fault and we should can a gasman, which is where I came in!! :(

having tiled the bathroom, and I admit it took 7 weeks, I now have a lot of grout residue on the tiles that has set sort of solid and streaky. I suppose I should have cleaned as I was doing it, but I :cry: didn't. So what's the best thing to remove it? I have tried a scouring pad, glass...

too right it was expensive!! I think it is VCW-sine 18 T3 W combi boiler

vaillant boiler 25yrs old, recently the water is not very hot once the CH has gone off, fine when it is on. Have cleaned the diverter valve, but makes no difference. Any ideas, I dont want to buy a new boiler, which is all the suggestions I get from experts!
