    Large oval wire nails required

Hi guys, anyone know where I can get some thick (as in 5-6mm) oval wire nails? I need 100ish mm long ones. It's for replacing some large standard nails I used on a job I'm not happy with! 😁

Best vapour barrier for bitumin/asphalt floor

Hi folks, sorry if this is a daft question but no amount of Internet searching has answered it. I'm currently about to install a laminate floor in the dining room. The floor is bitumin/asphalt (the black, hard, rubbery stuff) and I want to do a proper job. I've decided to get the fibreboard...

Can I saw the Newel drop flush? (understair wall build)

Oh my god, that's a great idea! You're a genius, I'm an idiot. I've been staring at that post for hours and wouldn't have thought to do that. Problem solved, ill incorporate the post into the studwall frame and give the wall a corner in the middle. Cheers

Can I prime and paint over this?

Hi mate, sorry for the 1 year late reply. You've probably sorted yours now but my price was £200 for the entire living room. 17feet by 11. TBH I'm delighted I got it plastered and think it's really good value for the finish you get.

Can I saw the Newel drop flush? (understair wall build)

Hi there, For my exciting summer project I'm planning on building a stud wall underneath the stairs to give us an extra storage room or possibly a drying room with a clothes dryer in. Here's a pic of the area: I'm fine on the studwall construction (although any tips are really...

    Dulux Endurance patchy finish.

I had good results doing about one foot of the entire wall (top to bottom) at a time. I used a medium length fuzz roller if that helps.

    Dulux Endurance patchy finish.

Is it totally dry? Just threw 2 endurance coats on myself and while it all looked horrifying while drying the final finish is amazing. Maybe a case of hang fire and wait for it to fully dry? The issue may also be the 5 hour drying time between two coats?

What's this black rubber putty and how do I remove it?

You were right mate, the only thing that worked was this and a floorboard saw. This stuff was SO hard to remove! When it dries it's like a cross between rubber and lead! The chiseling and sawing were mainly to smash the unwanted planks to pieces, didn't make much impact on the adhesive...

What's this black rubber putty and how do I remove it?

Cheers guys, I think it is the roof adhesive. Great job whoever threw this down! My main worry is I want to retain as much of the original wood as possible. Don't think white spirit will have much effect. I'll try belt sanding it and hope it falls away.

What's this black rubber putty and how do I remove it?

Hi folks, I'm currently sorting the living room and want to bring the original floorboards back to their former glory. They're in great nick apart from this bit in the corner that needs replacing with a couple of cut new planks. My question is what's the black stuff? It feels like...

Can I prime and paint over this?

Cheers guys. Do you mean this stuff? (can't find Tx130) http://www.toupretpro.co.uk/products/product_view.php?pid=10 Just a couple of questions about it. 1) How much will I need for a medium to large living room? 2) How easy is the stuff to use? You may have already guessed but I'm a...

Can I prime and paint over this?

Do you mean use the filler on the entire wall or just any defects? The pics possibly make the wall look worse than it is. It's actually very flat and the layer of white paint is extremely thin

Can I prime and paint over this?

Hi there, I'm new to the forum and looking for some sound advice. I've just started stripping the wallpaper in our living room. Underneath is one coat of white paint and then bare plaster. As you can see from the pics, a lot of the white paint has come away with the wallpaper leaving the grey...
