Missing keys for ancient PVC windows...

Hello all. Can anyone help identify what keys I might need to work these PVC windows? If not, is there a simple way of making them unopenable (until they are eventually replaced)? Thanks!

Guess the cost of the roof terrace - cash prizes to be won!

Thanks Freddy, thats helpful...I will go that route. Based on those prices steel handrails i think!! I realise the question is very open...just wanted a ballpark figure for a simple terrace, steel railings with good quality materials covered with a timber decking. I don't want to overinvest...

Guess the cost of the roof terrace - cash prizes to be won!

That would be my next step. Is there any reason they would laugh? A similar property has been done like this a few doors away. I just want to know whether this is a £10k job or a £20k job or whatever. Having no experience of the planning department I don't want to go to them with a half baked...

Guess the cost of the roof terrace - cash prizes to be won!

Just kidding about the prizes, sorry! I was looking for some educated guesses as to how much a flat roof terrace would cost to build on the (currently) sloping roof off the back of my property. Some info: - my flat is top two storeys of a three storey building (converted attic is my top...

    Carpet with 'rogue tufts'!

I just had new carpet put down throughout my house...dark grey. It was done about a week or so ago and I have noticed quite a few darker fibres in the carpet following vacuuming the place...I thought that it was black polish or some other marks I had made but it is now clear that it is different...

    New carpet...with rogue tufts!

Thanks Guys. My blood pressure is starting to rise on this one!! The hallway alone has probably 15-20 tufts...some are string like woven into the carpet and others are finer but still visible. I haven't done a full count but I imagine I could get to 50 easily enough. I will post in the...

    Solve my velux window dilemma!

Update: I did the painting with Crown Solo - worked quite well - i wasn't able to get the look perfect (ie it doesn't look like a white velux window from the shop) but it definitely passed the glance test. Cheers

    Solve my velux window dilemma!

Hi all, I have just finished a redecoration with one or two items yet to do. Attached is a pic of the main bedroom which has a pine velux window. The pine (imo) does not match the paint colours/carpet or other woods in the room (white gloss and dark wood). The options I am thinking about...
