    Curtains or Blinds?

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely go for blackout roller blinds in the bathroom. Might get them for the bedroom as well (still worried about the privacy!) if I can find some that look nice enough. And your poor neighbour - I'd be so embarrassed if that was me!

    Curtains or Blinds?

Lol thanks Mister Helpful; I didn't think about the potential for silhouettes at all! I think the ones I'm interested in come in a 'blackout' style; that shouldn't make a silhouette should it?! So am I being silly about horizontal blinds not being private? Does it matter which way the blinds...

    Curtains or Blinds?

I guess not.... But if someone's looking for a home that won't entail them making any changes then it might make a difference, will it not? And then there's the psychological thing of what people see when viewing a house. i.e. your home should be as free of clutter as possible, even though...

    Curtains or Blinds?

The curtains in my home are looking a tad on the shabby side (and that's being kind...). But I don't know whether to replace them with more curtains or blinds. Would blinds make my home more 'sellable' in the future? But do slatted blinds offer complete privacy? I've been sat in friends...

    CAN I PAPER A BATHROOM CEILING ????

I wouldn't bother. It might be fine but it might very well not. What advantage does paper offer that makes it worth the risk of being back at square one?

    One million young people unemployed....

I would LOVE to work four days a week. But for that to be viable I would also have to put up with less money which needless to say, I would not love.

    A better work ethic perhaps?

    UK population out of control.

Yes they do have a one child policy in China. It works great; it leads to many, many abandoned children (usually girls), forced abortions (under some governments) and in some cases children being killed either just before or after birth. Controlling how many children people can or cannot have...

Don’t’ get caught by this bunch of con merchants

Me too. And very happy I was with them. Back on topic though: unbelievable that things like this are legally allowed to operate. Anything that doesn't make it implicitly clear that money is exchanging hands should be illegal.

    Need a new back door....

Hi, I can't answer your questions but I can recommend a supplier (they don't fit doors) that I used for interior and exterior doors http://www.ukoakdoors.co.uk/ Everything they sell (I think) is solid oak, and very good quality. Oh, and sorry if you're not in the UK and my suggestion is...

Vincent Cooke not charged over death of alleged burglar

Great, no way this man should've been convicted. Sorry but if you break into someone's home, whether you physically threaten the owners or not, you should know you are putting your life in danger. Burglar's get away with far too much. If the law won't stop them, let homeowners do it.

    Anyone been burgled?

How much did your triple glazing cost you? If you don't mind me asking.

    Anyone been burgled?

No I didn't. Should I have been offered it? The police came round, took a statement and that was the last we heard.

Evolution of music and the next big thing..

I find it very interesting wondering what music will be like in say, 50 years. I much prefer music of the 60's and 70's to much of what's released today. Especially the absolute nonsense that appears in the charts. What is with that awful autotune stuff...?

    imagine hundreds of years ago...

I'm pretty sure this is it. There's still people that live this way. We don't need alarms to wake us, we just rely on them because we're used to them, and many of us don't have the regular sleeping patterns needed in order to wake naturally.

    Carpet stain

I'm afraid I'm not sure what a proprietary cleaner is, but I presume you mean something like this? http://www.theoriginalfactoryshop.co.uk/Shop/Electrical/Home-Appliances/1952-Vax-Rapide-Spring-Carpet-Cleaner.html Though I have this one and I'm very happy with the results. Have kind of...

Replace or add secondary glazing to my old patio doors?

I would go for the PVC. They should keep your home warmer and I'd imagine will last longer too.

    Optimum Calls Telephone scam

There should be a legal limit placed on how long a contract can last. Whilst for many years 12 months was standard, 24 months is becoming increasingly commonplace and apparently in America, many mobile phone contracts are 36 months. Meaning that Britain is only so far behind. Where will...
