Bosch Varioperfect washer: code E00. How to reset?

Note: to put the machine into what I suspect is a self test mode, do the following: Press the “on / start” button and hold it pressed. Keep holding the start button and turn the selector from the “off” position two positions to the left (two clicks). Wait 2 seconds and release the “on / start”...

Bosch Varioperfect washer: code E00. How to reset?

Well - you google for days and just as you ask the question on here, you find an obscure web forum with the answer. So... To reset the machine and remove the E00 error code, press and hold the start button and turn the dial one place to the left (anticlockwise). Keep holding the start button...

Bosch Varioperfect washer: code E00. How to reset?

My Bosch washer stopped working with an E21 error code. This was cause by the motor bushes that had expired. I replaced them with genuine bushes. I can now run what appears to be a self-test (timer shows 0:01) which works fine (machine fills, drum turns, spins, empties). But error code E00 is...

Really stupid question about automatic bypass valve

It’s definitely an auto bypass valve - a Honeywell DU145. Further info...I managed to turn the valve anti-clockwise with some effort. It then loosened up and I was able to turn it all the way out, and miraculously my boiler overheat problems stopped. Turning it clockwise no longer “twangs”...

Really stupid question about automatic bypass valve

Thanks for that old post. I have bought a new Honeywell ABV, and it definitely turns both ways, and does not twang when turning clockwise, so I think mine is up the swanny. What a drag. I imagine this could be causing my boiler to overheat on the overrun. Anyone know if it is possible to...

Really stupid question about automatic bypass valve

Thanks Motman. The “twang” is definitely inside the body of the valve and not due to the knob slipping on the shaft. The screw needs loosening to enable the knob to be turned - it is a lock screw. The plumber will definitely be called.

Really stupid question about automatic bypass valve

Thanks ReJect. Is it normal for a bypass valve to turn plenty of full turns clockwise and go “twang” each full turn, but never turn more than 1 turn anticlockwise?

Really stupid question about automatic bypass valve

Thanks for the response. It’s a bit of a mystery to me as well. I am guessing that the boiler on overrun needs flow through the bypass valve to avoid overheating, and if the bypass doesn’t open enough there is insufficient flow and the boiler will overheat. Therefore adjusting the bypass valve...

Really stupid question about automatic bypass valve

I’m not a plumber! I want to understand how the turning of an automatic bypass valve knob is meant to work to determine if mine is weird. Our actual plumber recently installed an auto bypass valve to our central heating system. Previously it had a gate valve. He set up the bypass valve to...

I have a problem with my Baxi solo 3 PFL 80. It’s the same symptoms as this thread from 2011 from @metalsteve for which there was no confirmed solution posted By the OP. Nilfisk 140.3 pressure washer fix (likely similar for other makes and models)

I bought my Nilfisk 140.3 pressure washer after recommendations on here. It was great for about a year. Then it randomly wouldn’t run, then it would, then it wouldn’t etc. Extremely frustrating. The symptom was that, with the washer plugged in and on, and water connected, when switching on the...

Siemens washing machine: motor fault. Reset?

Hi - the old motor is toast I'm afraid. Burnt out. I had been hoping it would just be a brush replacement but not so. I got the replacement motor for £145ish from http://www.4ourhouse.co.uk/cgi-bin/home.pl who were very efficient and delivered next day.

Siemens washing machine: motor fault. Reset?

Thanks for your continued help Zipper. When I turn the machine on at the wall and then move the program selector to any position other than "off", the only flashing lights are all the spin speed lights and the wash light. The start light doesn't flash. None of the buttons are responsive...

Siemens washing machine: motor fault. Reset?

Thanks. I have taken the front panel off and had a good look at the pcb which looks fine, no damage, and all the rest of the wiring looks fine and connections are tight. Pressing and holding the start button for 5 or even 10 secs made no difference I'm afraid - still got all the spin lights...

Siemens washing machine: motor fault. Reset?

Thanks for the reply. The dial twiddling described above definitely changed the lights from spin speed lights 1,3 and 5 flashing indicating a motor fault, to all 5 spin lights and the wash light flashing. I tried putting the dial onto one of the temperature wash settings and turning off...

Siemens washing machine: motor fault. Reset?

Hi there, I have a Siemens WM14E141GB washing machine also known as an e14.14. I believe it is similar to numerous Bosch models. The machine stopped working a couple of days ago. It made a grinding/crackling noise when on a fast spin, and then stopped. The front panel has 3 lights flashing...

Boiler fires, goes off after a while, then doesn't re-fire

Diagnosed the problem as a faulty air pressure valve. The plumber replaced it. All working fine now.
