    Macerator discharge

Cool so just drawings rather than inspection?

    Macerator discharge

Thanks. The upstairs toilet will still connect directly to the stack. I guess if I reuse the old washing machine waste pipe (with suitable connector) then I still need building control to inspect the new toilet installation?

    Macerator discharge

I'm remodelling the downstairs layout of my house. This includes knocking through a utility room to form a bigger kitchen diner and relocating the utility room. I intend to add a toilet with a macerator in the utility room. In terms of discharge from the macerator I guess it would be...

    Cavity Wall Insulation Bridging DPC?

Having thought about it some more I'm guessing that he must have been concerned that heavy rain could splash over the top of the DPC and bridging through the insulation could make the internal wall damp. That's the only way I can think of it being a problem. He may not have used the term...

    Cavity Wall Insulation Bridging DPC?

Just had a British Gas Energy Survey done and they reckon cavity wall insulation wouldn't be a good idea as there is not enough clearance between ground level and our damp proof course. We could get rising damp in the walls due to bridging of the damp proof course. What I am unsure of is how...

Potterton 24 not heating hot water

Thanks to all those who took the time to reply. In the hope that it will help someone searching here in future - there was a temperature sensor in one of the pipes to the left of the boiler. This had worked loose and was no longer giving the correct reading. Once the sensor was reseated all...

Potterton 24 not heating hot water

Thanks for replying. I've set the pressure as per the instructions so I don't think its that. I came back to it this evening an it sounded like the fan was constantly running when it should have been idle. I turned the switch to the off position and it continued to run until I flicked off...

Potterton 24 not heating hot water

Pressure was low when it stopped working. I've now allowed water around the loop and it's 0.75 bar when idle and 1.25 bar when "heating".

Potterton 24 not heating hot water

Thanks for replying. I've just checked the heating and exactly the same thing happens as for the hot water. The other half mentioned a bit of a clattering noise the other day - that might have been when the boiler stopped working.

Potterton 24 not heating hot water

I have a Potterton 24 boiler that is not heating water. The microswitch assembly is working correctly as something whirs into life when the hot water tap is opened. However the burner light doesn't come on and neither does the Flame Failure light. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
