    Porcelain 'quarry' tiles?

Does anyone have any experience of these, as sold by Wickes and I suspect Topps too: http://www.wickes.co.uk/red-quarry-floor-tiles/invt/166173/ http://www.toppstiles.co.uk/tprod3743/section1052/Quarry-Tiles-Red-Wall-and-Floor-Tile-15x15cm.html They're obviously not traditional quarry...

    render? plaster? insulated pb?

Hello everyone, Last few days I've read everything I can on this forum about plastering & rendering and been practicing my technique with base coat & finish plastering on a practice wall. Before anyone says get a pro in, I lost my job when I bought this house and have no choice but to...

    rubbing up new concrete

Got my concrete in yesterday. Today it's reasonably firm and no ponding water. Can I rub it up with a steel trowel to smooth out the tamping marks? tell me about my incoming supply

I'm redoing my kitchen and have ripped everything out (including the floor). Here in the corner is my incoming supply; it's a mess and I need to do something with it before the new kitchen goes in. I'm not going to pretend I can do this myself, but I would like some help and information so I...

what depth to allow for quarry tiles on mortar over a slab?

Hi there, I'm hoping to lay quarry tiles directly on to my new slab in the kitchen, so as I'm now setting out the level for the slab how much should I allow for the finish so I'm level with the floor in the rest of the house? Is this the best approach to finishing the slab with quarry...

new slab, no screed, quarry tiles ok?

I'm about to dig out my old kitchen floor and replace it with an insulated slab. It's only 3m x 3m, and I'm fine with the construction, but was wondering about using battens fixed round the wall to give me the finished level. Should I fix these above the edge insulation so the bottom of...
