Concrete vs Lead flashing - advice needed

I agree with the first comment too. Pointing on to the slate/tile is futile to say the least. A good code4 lead flashing with soakers is far better. Use a good quality lead compatible silicone sealant for the chase in the wall, it won't fall out with the movement!!

Those tiles look like ashmoor old english?? are they the tiles your having?? If so have you enquired about valley tiles?? Do they make valley tiles for that tile?? if they do that would be problem solved as you wouldn't need to cut the tiles in at all!! And you don't have to re point the...

    dry verge in black

Probably a little late but we had to use manthorpe dry verge, don't rate them much. we prefer sandtoft verges, they fit together realy well and look spot on! Also i think back always fades to gray after a summer or two on them!!

I agree, lead for the valley but traditional mortar always falls out with movement over time. If you use the dry valley you don't have to point the tiles and it doesn't fall out every few years!! Also fibreglass last for 40+ years not 20. Most fibreglass flat roof systems have a 20 to 25 year...

    a old ashfelt roof.

Oh and don't fill the dish with sand. If anyone ever has to walk on the roof in future and they step on that area, the felt will buckle and split! Then your back to square 1...... Cheers RoofDry

    a old ashfelt roof.

Strip the asphalt off and get a better look at the boarding, if it's rotten you really need to take it all up and start from scratch. If a flat roof needs re-roofing, don't just go over the old one. You just don't know what your cover up!!! This way you can level the roof through, get rid...

Hi Go with the dry valley system as it is maintenence free. Also use dry ridge and verge systems, all maintenence free! RoofDry have over 37 years experience in the roofing industry and you should always point the valley and you never should cut the tiles tight together because if it...

    GRP Garage Roof and Condensation

The roofs should have been cross flow vented during installation. As they wasn't cross vented i agree with freddy and the brick vents. To vent it properly you need the vents to be at both the back of the garages and at the front! It is no use just putting one or two vents at one end because...

    Opinions on work quality please.

Hi I wouldn't advise knocking the (lugs) of the tile as you will end up breaking the tile and needing replacments! You would be best cutting them off with a 4inc angle grinder to adapt the tile to sit down flat. This will stop breakages! Did you have the roof checked before you had the...

    condensation from flatroof extension

Hi. You don't ventilate a wark roof because that would alow the heat from the house to escape, thus making it a cold roof!!! A warm roof is installed as follows. Firring pieces are fitted to the joist to creat the falls. Then you board the area in 12mm plywood as your base board. then you...
