could any one help me i've got a old ashfelt roof i want to prime it then felt it with torch on felt but it sages in the middle .what can i use to level it off with or can i just use a self leveling compound any help or advise would be gratefully welcome ....thank you.

thanks for you reply iam going to have a good look at it this weekend but i think its about a 1m x 1m approx.how would the felt stick to the sand? once i've looked at it again ill let you know how big it is.cheers mate.

it wouldnt thats why it has to be a small dip size your talking about is probs to large to do it

Strip the asphalt off and get a better look at the boarding, if it's rotten
you really need to take it all up and start from scratch.

If a flat roof needs re-roofing, don't just go over the old one.
You just don't know what your cover up!!!

This way you can level the roof through, get rid of the dish and then
give the roof better falls. You will finish up with a longer lasting flat roof!

Cheers, RoofDry

Oh and don't fill the dish with sand. If anyone ever has to walk
on the roof in future and they step on that area, the felt will buckle
and split! Then your back to square 1......

Cheers RoofDry
