Can anybody help me?. I am studying at college my C&G 2330 in electrical installation i have been told to get a copy of the IEE wiring Regs 16th Edition (brown cover). Are there any books that put the regs into english.

could be right about the electric bloke but the main pme earth cable was only 4mm now changed to 16mm.

My electric meter is on the outside of the house the meter tails and pme earth go from the meter through the cavity wall about 1m and into the cu. the "nicks" in the cables were just inside the cavity wall and were very small (only just enough to touch each other) there was no smell or hot...

Good news chaps problem sorted nedl bloke is a wast of space (to be nice) the problem was with the pme earth it had a nick in the earth wire case and so did the live meter tail one was touching the other hence live in the house . The nedl bloke would have noticed this if he had done his test...
