    I’ve just tested it again and it’s not doing it now. Just realised that it was doing it when the boiler was running - heating the hot water. Is it bad practice to run the hot water when the boiler is running? Could it be to do with expansion?

    Not that I’ve noticed. It only seems to overflow when the bathroom mixer tap for the bath is running both the hot and the cold feed.

    Thanks Chris. Is there a way I can test it to find out the cause? The reason I ask about the bypass valve is that I changed the motorised valve and the pump last year and could t remember if the bypass valve was on or off.

    I’ll have a look at screw fix and get something that’s better quality. I think that tap was only about £30. I have tried new o rings...sadly ☹️ Thank you for all your help

    It is leaking where the bottom of the spout joins the body. It’s probably because it is cheap any recommendations for a decent tap? I’m not sure on the pressure...it’s quite powerful. Perhaps I can turn down the isolation valve...

    Sorry. Thank you for the replies. there is a tank in the loft for the hot water system I assume it is a cold water header tank. there is also a hot water cylinder in the spare bedroom.
