What would constitute 'implementing' planing permission for loft conversion

Hello, We've planing permision for a loft conversion and extension. It's complicated by the fact we are not clear that we want the extension part (or at least all of ir) (lose to much outside space) and that we are not happy with the proposed floor plan. (the plans came with the house, we...

Have I killed my 'boiler'? Help please.

Just to conclude this thread. It was as @flameport suggested. In the end the electrictian found a fuse burried somewhere deep in the heat exchanger PCB that I didn't find, replaced it and hey presto fixed in 5 minutes flat (they also then wired up the thermostat for me). Thanks for all the...

Have I killed my 'boiler'? Help please.

@CBW - thanks > Looks like it’s an overheat thermostat. Yes I'm sure you are right on that one. > have you checked the 3 amp fuse in the spur? I can't find any fuse box between the 'boiler' (actually a heat exchanger but I cant get out of the habit of calling it a boiler') and the main...

Have I killed my 'boiler'? Help please.

Well I dared to press it and... nothing. A slight click noise, but only the sound of a button depressing. Doesn't stay depressed or seem to do anything. Tried turning unit on, still nothing.

Have I killed my 'boiler'? Help please.

@flameport that sounds highly likely (I connected 3 wires), thanks, I'll have a dig. I really hope it's just a fuse I wonder if there might be some fuses inside the heat exchanger unit? Will have a look later. If the Tado just needs 2 wires, would the 3rd go in parking? Many thanks!

Have I killed my 'boiler'? Help please.

@ianmcd good suggestion but I definitely stayed away from the 'max 36v analogue/digital' side. I used the no nc com ports (and thought in the correct manor, matched up circuit diagram that's on the two thermostats).

Have I killed my 'boiler'? Help please.

Toilet seemingly impossible to repair... constant water running in to pan

Hi, Our toilet is running water into the pan constantly. It seemed easy to fix: Remove the 'flush' and replace with a new one... So I bought a new flush ('universal fitting') but can not install it for the life of me. I've had to put the old one back and now it leaks worse! I can't fit it...

Replacing an oil system hopefully with something 'green', too many options, advice please.

Thanks @muggles and @dal5band . I hadn't considered bio oil, I'll look into that. @wgt52 the install and maintenance of ground source seems a lot more expensive than air source (ground was my initial thoughts). When you say I wasn't sure what that meant in practicality, good, bad, ugly?!

Replacing an oil system hopefully with something 'green', too many options, advice please.

We've recently moved to a 1960 bungalow. Reasonably insulated, double glazed, retrofitted cavity wall insulation, fair loft insulation. The house has a modern (2009) large extension, feels well insulated but with lots of glass and rooflights. The extension has underfloor heating, everywhere else...

Replacing roof on prefabricated concrete garage... Not sure where to start...

Hi, Our garage roof is asbestos sheets which we are having (professionally) removed. This will leave us with no roof and I'm not sure how to put one on. The garage is prefabricated concrete with virtually flat roof (slight slope to the back I think) Our previous garage (for which I replaced...

Can't find any planning advice/guidance building new home in garden in very rural area.

Hi. I live in the East Devon area of outstanding natural beauty in a rural semi detached house which is well outside (1 mile) any village/settlement/built up area. I'm interested in if I could split my relatively large garden and get planning for a new build. I'm struggling to find any advice...
