    Air in central heating

If it's any help, it usually takes all winter for me to get the air out of my radiators after a drain down Just gets stuck in one rad and have to wait for it to work it's way to the towel rail in the bathroom

    Trv identification

I got a Valencia Classic head for it, but it's not turning the valve off, so I assume the body is broken

    Trv identification

Actually, screw thread to to of pin is the same distance, so maybe the internals have gone.

    Trv identification

Long shot, but could anyone identify this TRV body? There was no head on it when we moved in to the house. I bought a Honeywell valve, but the Honeywell pin only protrudes 4mm whereas the existing one is about 8mm so the new valve doesn't shut it off.

    Condensate pipe weeping

Well thanks to everyone that's provided help so far. The boiler is not new, the pipe is not new, so either it's been doing this for seven years and I've not noticed, or something has got disturbed recently. I'll put some grease on tomorrow when it turns up, and if that doesn't help I'll call...

    Condensate pipe weeping

I understand what you are saying, but I'm not sure what else a plumber would do other than just pushing it on.

    Condensate pipe weeping

Will silicone grease help in this instance then? Like make a seal to prevent that action?

    Condensate pipe weeping

No, no blockage. It's a straight meter drop, so it's not backing up. Why is the water tracking up and out instead of dropping down though?

    Condensate pipe weeping

Seriously, is there a knack to this that I am just not getting? I'm pushing it in as far as I can, but I guess it's not sliding in fully as I'm still getting a leak. I swear it's in ok because I push until I feel a bit of resistance then it sort of 'pops' in further. Any ideas?

    Condensate pipe weeping

Right, well I've took it off and pushed it back in as hard as I can so will see what happens. Haven't put any grease on yet as it hasn't arrived from Amazon!

    Condensate pipe weeping

Ok, I've managed to take it off. I can see how it's ridged inside to sit on the pipe. Is there supposed to be a washer in there or anything?

    Condensate pipe weeping

I haven't had chance to do anything yet as have been at work all day. I did however phone the Vaillant customer helpline, who weren't much use. They were just adamant that it shouldn't leak, and all I could do was take it off and put it back on again. Don't use any kind of clip as there needs...

    Condensate pipe weeping

Thanks, just wanted to check it was condensate leaking and nothing else

    Condensate pipe weeping

Follow up question. What temperature should the condensate be? I notice the water is reasonably warm, but not hot like radiator water. I assume this is just due to the proximity to the rest of the heating parts?

    Condensate pipe weeping

Thanks. I've ordered some grease and some hose clips

    Condensate pipe weeping

Is it really just lift off and push back on, because I really don't want to mess this up What's the purpose of the grease? Lubrication it to help the seal?

    Condensate pipe weeping

I've not taken it off yet, just tried giving it a good shove down first...

    Condensate pipe weeping

Hi, We've got a small weep/drip from where the grey condensate drain connects to the white pvc pipe (see picture). Does this just push on, or does it need to be glued - can I do this myself or do I need to get someone in to do it? Thanks!

    Condensation question again, sorry!

I think the fact I went into the loft on the Friday and let it in the warm air meant it was a lot worse when I went back in on the Sunday! Again, I think the patterns of droplets on that picture suggest condensation? It's tricky to know what to do. Due to the construction of the loft I've...

    Condensation question again, sorry!

The things that was leading me more towards condensation were the fact that the droplets were very spread out (including the rest of the valley boards not shown in this photo), that it hadn't been raining the first time I saw it (though it was frosty) and that it is in the corner furthest from...
