Condensate pipe weeping

Right, well I've took it off and pushed it back in as hard as I can so will see what happens.

Haven't put any grease on yet as it hasn't arrived from Amazon!

Seriously, is there a knack to this that I am just not getting?

I'm pushing it in as far as I can, but I guess it's not sliding in fully as I'm still getting a leak.

I swear it's in ok because I push until I feel a bit of resistance then it sort of 'pops' in further.

Any ideas?

No knack, just a bit of lubricant and smooth contacts. Is the condensate pipe blocked at all?

No, no blockage. It's a straight meter drop, so it's not backing up.

Will silicone grease help in this instance then?

Like make a seal to prevent that action?

When something leaks and it shouldn't.
And you can't stop it from leaking.
The part you need is called a "plumber"!

Funny as that may sound, it is actually a "trade" that can't be learned on a forum.

If you can DIY and fix the issue, then that's great.
But if not... Call a feckin plumber!

I understand what you are saying, but I'm not sure what else a plumber would do other than just pushing it on.

For starters... Overflow pipe has different OD, depending on brand. Not a lot, but enough!

Well thanks to everyone that's provided help so far.

The boiler is not new, the pipe is not new, so either it's been doing this for seven years and I've not noticed, or something has got disturbed recently.

I'll put some grease on tomorrow when it turns up, and if that doesn't help I'll call a plumber who will do something magic I'm sure.

Spigots and sockets get baggy with age.

No magic, just entropy.

Bet your condense drain isn't as clear as you think.

The rubber stretches, loosens and goes smooth over time and the warm slightly acidic condensate all affects it. As the condensate runs downwards it catches the edge of the plastic pipe then the water is now finding it's way down past the edge that isn't as watertight as it used to be.

For the third time a clip will sort it or even try a cable tie, job done.
