    Procombi 85HE - DHW hot-cold-hot-cold

Can I just check.. I've just got off the phone to my old man, who's always been good with these things, but he's no plumber. The flame goes out and the boiler turns off when we lose supply of dhw. Would a faulty valve cause this? I know I confirmed the Flow gets hot, which is does, but with...

    Procombi 85HE - DHW hot-cold-hot-cold

Thank you. I'm a bathroom fitter and tiler by trade (so do plenty of plumbing - and not just speedfit) - so something I should tackle myself do you think? Cheers

    Procombi 85HE - DHW hot-cold-hot-cold

Hi, and that's for your reply. Sorry for the delay. The flow does indeed heat up when only asking for DHW. What does that mean, a dodgy diverter valve? If it helps , before the boiler cuts out the pressure bounces and it 'chunters'.. TIA

    Procombi 85HE - DHW hot-cold-hot-cold

Hi guys, A common topic it seems - hot water runs hot, cold, hot cold... General advise seems to be sludged up heat exchanger or faulty diverter valve... Turning the DHW down has stopped the cutting out, chuntering and pressure bouncing, but I'd like the issue fixed on a more permanent basis...

Extractor in clockroom under the stairs - no external walls

It's old alright, covered in thick bitumen felt and clay double romans. My suggested route is about the shortest to be fair - there just isn't an exterior wall nearby.

Extractor in clockroom under the stairs - no external walls

Hi, and thanks for your reply. I could've done just that had I planned the job a little better, but the idea of utilising this space came part way through the build. Loft space I think it is. To be honest that inline fan is a lot better value than I thought one of its type would be... Cheers Tom

Extractor in clockroom under the stairs - no external walls

Question, as this room wont produce any significant moisture, being that is has just a toilet and basin, can the ducting just go into the unconverted pitched roof space, or will I need to fit a vent tile etc? Ta

Extractor in clockroom under the stairs - no external walls

I think I have no choice other than to put one similar to this in the loft space and head that way - there just isn't enough room to house one in the ceiling of the cloakroom. http://www.screwfix.com/p/manrose-mf100-w-100mm-mixed-flow-fan/26867 Tom

Extractor in clockroom under the stairs - no external walls

Hello gents, I had a meeting with my building inspector yesterday in the hope I'd achieve sign-off on my self-build extension and knock-through, but I have a couple of things to do to please him. I wrongly thought I could get away with not having an extractor in our under stairs cloakroom...

Hi, and thanks for your reply. Forgive my ignorance, but do you mean make a nice sloppy (slurry) sand/cement mix and trowel it on? Thanks Tom

How easy is it to plaster and get good results?

I had our plasterer around doing a few sets a year ago and being a good mate, he was more than happy when I asked to have a go. I plastered the wall to one side of our chimney breast, and although it is only 4ft wide, it still took me a while... The in laws arrived that evening, and being...

    dot and dab failing

Personally no. We dabbed out most of our house in the really cold winter with no heating or insulation in the loft - the place was freezing - quite literally, and we've had no trouble at all. How many blobs are you putting on/what do you think is the overall contact area once you have push...
