Unidentified cable at front of house

Believe me there's been a lot of Googling for those letters and numbers today! Not come up with anything at all though!

Unidentified cable at front of house

Thanks @SUNRAY I appreciate your input! I think the safest thing to do is leave them where they are and ask the contractors to be careful when digging up the drive to do what they need to do. Everyone's input is very much appreciated, so thank you. Hopefully this post might help someone else...

Unidentified cable at front of house

Yeah this is where we've got to! If they are indeed Rediffusion cables, I have no use for them, can they be cut off safely?

Unidentified cable at front of house

Thanks everyone for your kind and quick responses! We don't have a home phone line in use, and those telecoms cables are behind a blank plate not connected to anything. I'll ask the contractors to leave everything where it is and be careful when digging out the drive. I didn't want to remove...

Unidentified cable at front of house

No worries mate I appreciate your responses! Yeah both neighbours have that access panel/plate but no visible cables entering and exiting at the bottom like I do. The thinner cable you mentioned is chopped off. It looks like a coaxial cable judging by the end that's exposed. I have no idea where...

Unidentified cable at front of house

I did pull the cable to see if I could feel it below inside the bigger sheath and I could feel it rattle as I jiggled it from above

Unidentified cable at front of house

The house was built in 1979 - possible could be Rediffusion. The junction box I found behind the access panel has no markings on so not sure!

Unidentified cable at front of house

Yes that's the DPC, floor on the inside is a solid concrete floor. I wiped the sheath, no markings on what I exposed digging it out a bit :(

Unidentified cable at front of house

Further info - I opened the access panel above the cables and found some sort of junction box inside. See attached photos. I also uncovered another cable going into the front of the house! Hopefully this provides some further clues!

Unidentified cable at front of house

I did think that, about the looping but where would the loop terminate and then go to the porch? In the cavity? Looking at the service head (see attached), the incoming supply cable size looks different to the cables outside.

Unidentified cable at front of house

Hi all, thanks for your quick responses. Here's a picture of the front of the house. I have marked on the left where the meter intake is in a meter cupboard on the other side of the porch wall. We are in a link detached - our garage is attached to the left side of our house and the neighbours...

Unidentified cable at front of house

Hi all We are going to have our front lawn/drive done and one of the contractors who quoted for the work spotted an unidentified cable going into and out of the front of the house - see attached picture. They said this could be an issue if they run under the drive. Removing the access cover a...

    Pyronix Enforcer V11 - SMS / DIGI-GPRS

Hi there, We are looking to upgrade our alarm panel to an Enforcer V11 which as I understand it, has built-in WiFi to be able to connect to Pyronix Cloud, and therefore be managed via the app. Our current panel, which is a V09.51 model, has a GSM module installed, which sends us a text message...

    Pyronix Enforcer V11 Upgrade Kit

Hi everyone I am upgrading my Enforcer from V9.51 to V11 using the Pyronix Enforcer V11 upgrade kit, which comes with a new PCB and associated kit in the box. I notice that a new power cable that goes from the PSU to the front panel is included in the box, and this has an additional flylead on...

    Beko CA5411FFW2 Tapping Noise

Hi JJ The noise stops when the compressor stops. I opened up the back panel in the freezer where the fan is and there are no obstructions/blockages behind there. I disconnected the freezer fan but the noise continues - it is audible up the back of the unit, probably halfway up the back of the...

    Beko CA5411FFW2 Tapping Noise

Hello all Odd issue with our Beko fridge/freezer - it's started to make a tapping sound, coming from the back of the unit. I have checked and the sound is not coming from the compressor area, rather the area above it with the black radiator grille. See video attached below for the noise...

    Garage door closure issue

Hi guys Having a bit of an issue with our garage door at the moment. It's an up and over door with two arms in the top left and right corners when you look from the inside. The arm on the right hand side is catching the edge of the garage door preventing it from opening. Can anyone give me any...
