    Thanks for the relays. I think I will try using filler. I’ve been told that you shouldn’t use expanding foam around copper pipes as it can be corrosive, not sure how true this is but don’t want to take the risk. Thanks again.

    Good point. I’m I right in thinking that if a reasonable change is made to a ring then that ring will need to be tested? e.g. removing the cooker from the downstairs ring and the rest of the kitchen from the upstairs ring.
