    Well you have just proved you are an ass coz I deleted nowt! As I said previously ( if you can read ) it was on another thread on this forum( and still there) .     More money to come back out again. He is the only oil fired boiler engineer within 30 miles and the others want £100 before setting off on top of the service fee!. Cold I'm sure it's sitting on 1/2 bar and I'm not sure hot I will let you know when I get home.

    Thanks I've just read up on the exp vessel so now a bit more clued up, it would appear to work like the exp tank on a cars radiator, water was not coming out the valve on the exp vessel it was coming out of this valve (see picture) The engineer that came out to service the boiler said the exp...

    I am still unsure how to drain the vessel hence the reason its not been done. I have however managed to find the fault with the boiler and now the heating is working again. I will search the internet to see if I can find a "how to " for the exp vessel. Thanks

    No, valve stopped leaking once boiler was back up and running at full pressure..

    Unsure how to test this component but it's looking likely. divertor valve was changed just over one year ago and looking at the number on it, it would appear that it is not the correct one fitted. Honeywell 272848 fitted

    Hi Really need help again, boiler is supplying hot water but the heating does not come on. Heater control pink wire has 240v going to X13 heating limit stat. Programmer seems to be working as it is sending 240v to X4 I have changed pcb but still no luck. Now I'm stuck where to go from here and...

    Looks like mine is 65c, Boiler still not right ☹️... it is still tripping the lock out but now it does not trip the fire valve?? Seems to trip when high demand is on the boiler.. Anyone any ideas what to test now??

    Hi, well the fire valve tripped due to the capillary tube touching a very hot piece of metal in the boiler! Exactly what Terry said.. So after moving the capillary tube off the boiler and learning how to bleed the fuel back to the boiler we have heating and hot water again and a clean son!

    First two, first one has a bolt in the bottom ( drain plug) which when I loosen fuel comes out. Last one before boiler ( no fuel in it)

    Done and loads in it.. There is what looks like three filter type things on the feed coming in on my wall, the first ( nearest the tank ) has a drain plug on the bottom, which when I loosen has fuel in it, second one has a copper pickup solid pipe that comes off it and the final one is a see...

    I have just noticed that the fuel filter on the side of the house that feeds the boiler appears to be empty! The oil tank is on 4/10 on the watchman so plenty fuel.
