    Replacement external sounder

Hi thanks for your reply however I’m not sure I can answer your question as I don’t think the UK version of the panel has any fuses. After a bit of research it seems the US version of the same panel has a 1amp battery fuse and a 0.5amp siren fuse if that helps? The manual says that there are 2...

    Replacement external sounder

Hi, we have an old Visonic Powermax plus house alarm but the external wireless sounder has stopped working. I would like to replace it if possible with a basic bell box that has comfort LED's strobe etc but wire it to the powermax control panel. So any recommendations would be apricated. Some...

    Pyronix Enforcer general alarm query

Many thanks for your quick reply’s, I think I will order a remote key fob as well as the proximity tags as I’m guessing that the option mentioned by sparkymarka could involve some interesting setting up. If I can manage it that sounds an ideal solution.

Hi, I need to change our home alarm system as the old one has started playing up (Visonic Powermax+) I was thinking about a Pyronix Enforcer V10 but have a couple of questions before I jump in and order the various kit. At the moment we don't set our alarm at night but would like to with the...

Need advice, is all this compliant?

Thanks for the reply's guys. I thought the whole building inspector process was meant to prevent exactly this type of thing, I feel rather let down by them. Is there some sort of complaint process I can take with building control? After all, just saying "it wasn't like that when I signed it off"...

Need advice, is all this compliant?

Firstly, sorry for what might end up a bit of a saga to read. My elderly mothers next door neighbours (semi detached) have recently completed their full width single story rear extension, some concerns have arisen which I would like advice about. The main issue is that her patio is now being...

    Party wall question.

Scenario: Semi detached houses, so the existing boundary line is between the party wall in the centre dividing the 2 houses. If one owner wants a full width rear extension would the existing party wall be extended to provide the side wall for the new extension ie so it would span across both...

    Trickle vents for conservatory?

Hi thanks for the reply's. Noseall, I won't have any wall that isn't glass that is on an external wall so It looks like if I do need vents they will have to be in the door frames. Woody, as the conservatory is over 30sqm it isn't exempt from building control and as per my original post the...

    Trickle vents for conservatory?

Hi can any one explain the regulations with regards to trickle vents for a conservatory? It is a new addition and is just over 32sq Meters. All I can see from the regulations is that it seems if the adjoining room has no vent that you can vent it from the conservatory. In my circumstance the...

Expanding foam to seal UPVC windows or patio doors?

As far as I know from a bit of research in the past the single part types ie the squirty tins are all open cell. To get the closed cell type you need the 2 pack tins which you mix yourself and pour so not practical for filling gaps etc. Hope that helps.

What type of ply to cover top of exposed rafter ends?

Hi, just doing the roof of my orangery and wondered what the recommendations were for the type and thickness of plywood to cover the top of the external part of the exposed rafter ends? The rafters are oak and at 400mm centres. Ideally I would like the ply to weather and look the same as the...

Sorry I should have read your post thoroughly. The down pipe will be on the left hand corner of the orangery/original house as you look down from the top of the orangery. I don't have any elevation drawing as in the original drawing I had planned to fit oak framed windows within the steel frame...
