Corrapol Bitumen Ridge To Tiled Roof

Hi, I've got a garage roof which is tiled at the front but had corrugated AC sheets at the back, i had these removed and replace with Corrapol sheets which are fine for the short term, although i plan on replacing them eventually. The issue i have is the ridge. originally these were concrete...

    Installing new corrugated roof

Ok makes sense, the 90degree profiles are cheap enough and would make a nice finish on the ends. Is it worth paying £50 extra per sheet for 80mm rather than 30mm?

    Installing new corrugated roof

Thanks for coming back to me, can you also take a picture of how its finished against the other end (exposed wall)? Just looking to see how you waterproofed the panels that end, and what you used for it :)

    Installing new corrugated roof

Would you be able to send me some closeups of how you finished the sheet against the wall?

    Installing new corrugated roof

This is a concern. Currently the corrugated sheets are around 50mm high at the upper part. As the front is tiled it is pretty highly stacked, but the ridge has rounded tiles which are concreted in place. I think the only option is to see how it looks when the old stuff is removed and try and...

    Installing new corrugated roof

Thanks for the replies. The insulated sheets look like a much beteer solution, especially as they come in long lengths so I can cover the entire length without a jigsaw of panel pieces. Are they easy to get hold of? I've searched online an can only find a couple of suppliers, my local places...

    Installing new corrugated roof

My garage currently has a corrugated fiber cement roof which is pretty leaky :( I've arranged for a company to come and remove and dispose of the old roof panels (as the are likely asbestos containing) and need something new in its place. I have contacted a few local roofing companies who all...

    Training To Become An Electrician

Thanks for the pointer. Having looked at the regs a bit more closely, there isn't actually that much that is notifiable work, we aren't involved in consumer unit replacements or bathrooms, the only other thing notifiable is the addition of a circuit. What is classed as the addition of a circuit...

    Training To Become An Electrician

Hi All, I'm looking for a bit of advice on what is the best route to take to become a qualified / certified electrician? I currently hold 0 qualifications which would count towards a domestic / commercial electrician, however my job is to design electrical & electronic control circuits and...

    EV Charger Solution Needed

So, the garage is supplied by a dedicated 32A RCBO on the house cu and 6mm T&E from the house to the garage. The garage then has its own small cu with 3 MCBs 20a for sockets radial 6a for lights 20a for the 2g camper plug. The car would be outside, but plugged in either inside the garage on...

    EV Charger Solution Needed

The current socket is a standard 2g 13a metal clad in the garage, wired in 2.5mm back to a dedicated 20mcb in the garage cu, only ever used it for the pressure washer  I was hoping to just extend that circuit to an outdoor socket to make life a little easier.

    EV Charger Solution Needed

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. What is concerning here is that selling a charger with a 13a plug on the end suggests it could be plugged in anywhere and nobody would be wiser of their earthing arrangements. Including me slinging the plug through the garage door and plugging it in. I have...

    EV Charger Solution Needed

Good point those 3pins probably aren't ideal for long term load. I Could rewire to a commando socket, that should be a more suitable long term

    EV Charger Solution Needed

Hi All, I'm in the process of buying a PHEV car, but could do with some advice over the charging side. I've been looking at the mainstream charging points from the major suppliers who all quote about £500-600 to install a 7Kw charger (plus all the additions you know will be needed when they...

    Edge Lighting

Hi Everyone, While planning to refurbish my bedroom I really like the idea of installing some coving which can be fitted with LED strip lighting. I've seen it done by people to create some 'mood' lighting in the room, but can it work as the main source of light for the room? my main concerns...

    Plastic to clay downpipe

Decided to do a bit of weekend renovating of my guttering since it's old and rusty and flaking paint. I've managed to remove the old cast iron downpipe and detach it from the underground connection which appears to be an elbow of sorts. The old pipe was just mortared in place but the downpipe...

Hot water cutting in / out

Seems like that was the issue, I drilled out the flow restrictor on the shower head and also fitted a new hose with a much larger bore and now the shower is much better, and also the hot doesn't seem to be cutting out. Thanks! (y)

Hot water cutting in / out

As far as I know it's only the shower, I dont use the bath and it usually runs long enough to fill the sink up for a shave so showering is the only time I notice it
