    Chimney was blocked up and had an electric fire, we have ripped out so it's back to original so take it the damp was due to no ventilation

    I know this question has been asked a hundred times on these forums, but always seems to get different answers... Im getting the chimney breast replastered this weekend (father in law is a builder) but am just wanting to know the best way to plaster over... Should i be knocking the parts...

    thanks for your help guys... £15 delivery from that place!! will pop to the local plumb center, hopefully they have something the same... as there doesnt seem to be any 68mm boss apapters available.

    It's a slate dpc, solid wall and solid floors yes. my plan was to lower the soil anyway, as you say it was above the dpc... (helpfull)

    I have recently removed a concrete channel from the front of my house that was doing more damage than good. (didnt go anywhere) I now need some repointing work done, party of which will be underground once the hole is filled back in... Reading on these forums, i see it is best to repoint...
